Vehicle Detail

After nineteen years, it is time to sell my car, It still starts, runs, and rolls on city streets and highways. It has some mechanical and cosmetic problems, however: The boot that covers the CV joint in the right axle is torn and the joint is bad. I can hear clicking from the front of the car when I make a wide left turn. There is a crack in the plastic coolant overflow tank and antifreeze sometimes leaks out shortly after the engine has been shut off. Engine oil leaks from the valve cover gasket, and I can sometimes see small volumes of smoke coming from under the hood when the engine is warm and the car is stopped. Transmission oil leaks from the large case seal. The air conditioner no longer cools the air. There is a small tear in the engine accessory belt. The boots covering the two front struts are torn, and I can see the rods. There are several small dents on the roof and a larger (1/4-inch-deep) dent below the driver's side-view mirror. The rear bumper has minor collision damage as well. Paint is coming off of large areas of the hood, trunk lid, and rear bumper and in small areas of the rest of the exterior. The windshield is chipped in a few places and cracked on the passenger's side close to the wiper. The passenger's side-view mirror will not turn without also moving its housing. The push-rods must be jammed. Some of the weatherstripping on the top of the front driver's side window has come loose and is hanging down. This car has had all of these problems for years but still has been a reliable means of transportation. It will be for you, too, for a few more months or years. It is too good for the scrap heap! The radiator was replaced in 2000, the passenger's side disc brake caliper in 2001, the alternator in 2003, the water pump in 2004, and the starter motor and all three external engine gaskets in 2005. The tires have about 40,000 miles on them and about 1/8" of tread left. The Texas inspection certificate is valid through December, 2013. This car is being sold without warranty from me. You will need to come by and drive it away. I have the title and the receipt for the current registration. If you are buying it for your personal use, I will go with you to the county tax office to change the ownership records. I thank you for looking and wish you good luck in bidding!
