Vehicle Detail
I have for sale a cool little truck! These little jewels are far and few between today. What makes this little truck unique, is that it has a 289 cubic inch engine, donated from a 1968 Mustang. All of these trucks were equipped with 6 cylinder engines off the assmebly line. All the previous owner did, was cut the doghouse, at each side and expand it to accomodate the heads and valve covers. It appears they used galvanized metal in the reconstruction of the doghouse. The hood still operates, exactly, like normal. No gaps, misalignment or any other issues. The seats still slide and tilt as they should as well. They did a really nice job. The body has been somewhat modified, in that, the tailgate was welded and molded into the bed. They were nortorious for rusting in the crooks and crannies, as well as, the bottom of the tailgate where moisture stood. They finished the bed interior in a high grade spray bedliner. The bed has no dents or rust whatsoever. It was not a cheaper version of lining. The paint is very presentable but, not show quality. No rust holes anywhere on this little truck and and very straight. It has a new rear chrome bumper in excellent shape. The interior is presentable but, I think, should be redone. It appears it was chestnut color at one time and they died it. Not the best job in the world I might add. Previous owner added toggle swiyches to dash for operation of electric fan, heater, wipers, etc. Don't know why he did'nt just repair the production switches. Those switches are present but, some are very stiff. It has brand new tires all the way around wrapping very nice outlaw wheels with gold centers and aluminum outer rings. Floors all seem to be solid, no soft spots or rust inside or out. I bought the truck about 1 1/2 years ago, with the intent of fully restoring it into a show truck. However, time, work, farm and other projects have gotten in my way. Rather than let it set and deteriorate , I am reluctantly, putting it up for sale. I have only driven it about 70 miles in that time. I did find an issue with the idling of the truck. As of 1-5-2013, a friend of mine looked at it and feels it is a vacuum issue. Not saying that is a 100% answer. I would recommend a 100% tune up be performed on it. Just don't have time to investigate it. It is hard to start at times and other times fires right up. For the selling price, this is a nice 75% start of a nice little street cruiser. You be the judge. I would estimate, if you invested 1000.00 to 1500.00 and some elbow grease, you would have a nice street cruiser. I am selling the truck as is, where as, no warranty implied or expressed. NOTE:I can assist with loading for shipment, but of course, shipment is your cost. PLEASE, don't ask me if I will deliver at this price! Vehicle is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end this auction early, if need be. Thanks for looking. NOTE: Due to a previous non paying member, deposit is non -refundable. Sorry, but he cost me alot of time and money. I am not accepting trades, of any kind, I need to free up space. Vehicle will be released for shipment, upon payment in full. Due to the economic times, I will accept a non-refundable deposit of $2500.00 and hold the vehicle for 30 days for remainder of payment in full. I DO HAVE A COUPLE MORE PICS, I WOULD BE WILLING TO SEND TO AN EMAIL ADDRESS. .
