1956 Corvette Offered by the Vault Classic Cars, Anaheim, CA, with better and higher quality photos than Ebay will host, AND A VIDEO, at our website, WWW.VAULTCARS.COM or call us at 714-401-1047 . International customers are welcome to bid ! We’ve sent many cars overseas This 1956 Chevrolet Corvette is a Beautiful car, in Venetian Red, with matching numbers 265 Cubic Inch V-8, rated at 225 Horsepower, and dual quad carburetors! It’s a beautiful car, with Numbers matching 265 cubic inch V-8, with the optional 225 HP dual quad engine and 3 speed manual transmission! It also has a working factory radio. The car was restored a couple of owners ago, and done correctly and nicely. It runs great, with all the power that Chevrolet installed back in the day! , everything works, including the courtesy lights, instruments, radio, headlights/ tailights / brakelights and turn signals, horn and wipers. I noticed the clock isn’t working, though The top is tan, the correct color for this car. It’s a very recent top, in excellent condition. It has a beautiful dashboard , gauges and steering wheel! All those gauges work, too, including the tachometer, the large instrument just below the radio. The Mirror stalk is the correct for ’56 item. You’ll note the little posts for the tonneau cover, which is included – that was a very popular accessory in the period. It's a beautiful car! Although it’s not a showcar, it’s clean, correct and nice, it runs great, and is a huge amount of fun to drive! I would guess that it was a frame-on restoration, rather than a frame – off. The undercarriage is tidy, but not detailed. You’ll note the ignition shielding is all present, the valvecovers are the correct staggered bolt versions, and the carburetors are the correct ones. The VIN #, E56S003422 has been decoded to be a July 12, 1956 build. Pretty late in the model year. The engine block is a 3720991 (D66). The D66 means it was cast on April 6th, 1956. The engine stamping is 04I5089 F56GR. The GR means it's a dual quad, 225 HP engine with Manual transmission. The cylinder heads are Fuel Injection heads from 1957, with a 3731539 casting number. The external casting mark looks the same as the '56 heads, but they're not the original heads on this car. Carburetor front: 2362 S Carburetor rear: 2419 S It's not a top NCRS showcar, but it isn't priced that way, either. I noted that the chrome is really nice, with the exception of the vertical grille pieces, which show some light pitting. Portions of the windshield posts show light age, and I noticed some very light pits on the rear bumpers. The interior is beautiful, with the correct waffle pattern seats, the tight weave carpeting, and lovely steering wheel and instruments. The paint is excellent, and the body is in excellent shape! It's a beautiful car, it runs and operates exactly as it should, and it is ready for you to enjoy now! THERE IS NO COOLING OFF PERIOD UNLESS YOU OBTAIN A CONTRACT CANCELLATION OPTION.
