Beautiful 1980 VW Vanagon Campmobile from San Diego! Runs and drives great and is the life of the party at every campground. New custom paint (6 months old), new tires (200 miles with 8,000 mile warranty from Costco), new battery (8 months old), Pioneer DEH-49 CD/Stereo, thousands of dollars in engine work and hoses. The mileage on some of the receipts from 2000 shows 144k miles, not sure why but I am not aware of any odometer problems. I purchased the van about a year ago from a person in CO with a clear title. The van I believed was owned by his grandmother who had it in storage for ~6 years. I have restored it from that point forward. I have most of the receipts and invoices. They loved it!! We used power hookup and lights and refrigerator worked fine. I did not try the gas stove at all or try running the refrigerator on gas so I can't say for sure the gas works. I also have added a few aftermarket items such as floor mats, middle floor console and some of the dash elements. The mattresses and curtains are all in good condition with no rips or stains. The pop-up tent is also in great condition as it has rarely been exposed and it also does not have any rips or stains. I have the original manuals as well as a new Haynes manual. Wile a lot has been invested, keep in mind that it is still an over 30 year old vehicle so there are some minor things that can go wrong. Things that I am aware of that are not perfect: The gas gauge does not work (looks like no needle in the dash)The spedometer just stopped working but I was working in the dash area (looking at gas gauge) and may have disconnected something as it worked last time we had it out. - Will try and fix- One of the cabinet hinges in the interior back closet is a little sprung and the molding is not tight in some places.- It is missing the driver table behind the driver seat although the mounting bar is there.- The drivers side window knob has come off and the driver side speaker needs got lost during painting. - The trim on the top should be replaced but it does not leak at all (I have the new trim but have not had a chance to install it).- Had them paint the outside only and take it down to the metal to ensure no rust but I did not have them touch the inside so there are is spot on the back gate that has a little rust on the inside. The original color was brown. When I bought it, it, the bus was white on the outside. Other than those minor items, the bus is in great condition as you can see from all of the photos. It does not use any oil or leak on the ground. Compression is good. Please let me know if you would like me to take additional photos or if you would like a scanned copy of any of the receipts.
