Vehicle Detail
Hello all Diesel Land Cruiser lovers. Let me start off by saying that my 1981 BJ41 FACTORY 2B DIESEL LAND CRUISER only has 39,648 miles on it. I currently own another BJ41 and can promise you they are rugged, reliable, get great fuel mileage, parts are easy to find ( mostly through Spector Off Road www.sor.com ), and did I say they get great fuel mileage? Bottom line in my opinion. You can drive this cruiser finally without going broke on fuel. I love gassers and have a few of them but the diesel 2B that Toyota put into this cruiser back in 1981 is a wonderful engine and in my case this engine only has the low 39,648 miles on it. The cruiser gets over 24 mpg. So, whoever buys this Land Cruiser will have years of great use ahead. These Land Cruiser diesels will go over 300k miles before needing any attention if they are properly maintained ( oil, filter, valve adjustments, fuel filter changes ). The BJ41 is a JDM ( Japanese Domestic Market ) cruiser and are extremely well respected in Japan. The body style is exactly like the 1981 domestic Land Cruiser FJ40 that we see here in the United States so parts are easy to get. I am able to drive my other BJ41 as a daily driver because I get such good fuel mileage. I can't stress that enough to all bidders. With the price of fuel these days it is nice to be able to get such great fuel mileage. The Cruiser has been garaged since I have had it and it appears to have been very well taken care of in Japan. Below are the things I have done to it and will send along all receipts to the winning bidder. A) The Cruiser is TITLED AND REGISTERED in California and is EXEMPT from all smog. It is 100% transferrable without issue anywhere in the United States or around the World. VIN NUMBER: BJ41011930 MATCHES ENGINE NUMBER. The engine is factory from 1981 when the cruiser was built and like I said, the cruiser only has 39,648 miles on it. People ask me alot about this motor. I want to be clear. This BJ41 is 100% FACTORY. I did NOT "put in" a Diesel engine. The BJ41 came from Factory with a 2B Diesel / 4 cylinder. B) Only $800 was needed to put exterior paint in very nice condition as seen in the pictures. The cruiser is beautiful. C) Valve Adjustment was just done 12 / 3 / 2012. D) Valve Cover Gasket replaced. E) New Diesel Fuel Filter from Specter Off Road. F) Adjusted Alternator Belt. G) Replace Air Filter. H) Oil and Filter Change. I) Front and Rear Differentials checked and Fluids just changed. J) Transmission checked and Fluid just changed. K) Transfer Case checked out and Fluid just changed. L) Emergency Brake fixed. M) Deglazed Brake Shoes. N) Machined Brake Drums. O) Replaced Battery Terminal. P) Coolant Flushed and Replaced. Q) Cruiser checked out completely by Factory Trained Toyota Diesel Mechanic. This Cruiser is ready to go anywhere. I would drive it to Alaska next week and not worry about its performance. It is a solid, rugged, go anywhere Land Cruiser that gets wonderful fuel mileage and certainly gets its share of attention. I am not giving the Cruiser away but I have set my Reserve "fairly" in my opinion based on the value of my other Land Cruisers, my other diesel cruiser, the rarity of this BJ41, other Diesel Land Cruisers I have seen for sale over the years here in the United States and the extremely low mileage on mine. That is the key in my opinion. A reliable, low mileage BJ41 Diesel is almost impossible to find. Again, all parts can be had from here in the United States, mostly from Specter Off Road in Chatsworth, California www.sor.com . I have other pictures available for those who want to review them. I do have pictures of the undercarriage, which by the way is rust free and in great condition which I will send along to anyone interested. I can also take more pics of anything anyone wants to see. I have owned and collected 22 Land Cruisers since 1974 and just want to answer all the questions everyone might have. I know it's a big investment but I can tell you, in my opinion, whomever ends up with this one will be very happy. I do not need two BJ41 cruisers, and am selling this one as the funds will help with a current restoration project I am working on. There is really not much else to say about this Cruiser. The pics pretty much speak for themselves. The 1981 BJ41 DID come stock with white spoke wheels. The Tires were on it when it arrived from Japan and are brand new. I have only put about 100 miles on this cruiser since I have owned it. The Tires are Goodyear Ultra Grips / 215 - 80R- 15 inch, extremely durable and have a wonderful ride. They are Japanese made. The Soft Top is brand new. I did NOT put it on. It was put on in Japan. I do NOT have the Hard Top. Anyone wanting a hard top would simply find one locally here in the United States. I have a connection for one if the winning bidder is interested. The hard top for this year Land Cruiser is the " Amby Door " type and are easy to find. The interior seats of the Cruiser are original fabric and in very nice condition as is the whole interior. Everything works, no cracks in the dash, good clutch, good Transmission ( barely used ), good Transfer Case ( barely used ), Brakes need nothing, Electrical in good shape. There are no issues with anything and the cruiser is ready to go pretty much anywhere you would want to take a Toyota Land Cruiser. Any questions please email them to me and I will answer and post below so that everyone else can see the answers. I will update everyone whenever I think of anything. More pics? Lemmie know. Thanks and good luck bidding. Globalvu3nn3. On Dec-12-12 at 13:51:48 PST, seller added the following information: Hello you guys, I have another 30 detailed pics of engine, interior and undercarriage that I just took today. Send me your email address and I will shoot them over to you for review. I also have additional exterior pics both close and far off I can send as well that I took yesterday. And yes, to answer another persons question, parts are very ez to find for the BJ cruisers here in the United States, just like the Domestic FJ gassers. Also, both of my BJ41 cruisers are properly registered and titled in California and title is 100% transferrable to all states and 100% clear. No smog needed. Send email for more pics. Any questions, send them along. Thanks, globalvu
