Vehicle Detail
The Ultimate MGB. The Late chrome bumper cars were the pinnacle of production in many enthusiasts opinion. Still with the classic chrome bumpers and traditional grill, but with such upgrades as comfortable seats, face level ventilation, Full syncro gearbox and a host of other improvements that made it much easier to live with. This Example takes it several steps further and is equipped with some rare options and upgrades. It was restored several years ago and during the restoration the engine was sent to a famous MG engine builder Ivor Searle LTD: http://www.ivorsearle.co.uk/remanufactured_classic_car_engines.htm During the rebuild it received a fast road cam, high compression head, hardened valves, polished intake and was fully balanced. It runs extemely well, and is fast without being difficult to drive or losing any reliablity. A Downdraft Weber Carb, and Lucas Sports Coil were also added for better performance and reliability. A hood strut kit was also added for ease of opening the hood and more stability. That alone is a huge improvement over stock. It is also equipped with a factory MGB Overdrive transmission which was fully rebuilt at the time of the restoration and works perfectly. It has also had a full brake rebuild along with the rest of the driveline rebuild. This car was originally equipped with factory wire wheels (which will still go right back on if you like) but has been fitted with the rare Center Lock alloy Panasport or Minilite type wheels and new performance tires. Cosmetically, the paint is still in great shape. It has a good shine and has no large paint flaws or problems such as dents, rust bubbles etc. The interior has been redone as well with new carpet, seats, panels and new convertible top. It has custom high quality floor mats featuring an embroidered MG logo. A new factory style wood steering wheel and matching shift knob rounds it out. It also comes with a Haartz cloth tonneau cover and a fiberglass hardtop with all mounting hardware which is in excellent shape with great rubber and glass. The trunk has been restored with a new fitted trunk carpet kit including a tire cover with embroidered MG logo. It also has a modern CD stereo which has excellent speakers and sounds great. This is a rare opportunity, If you want one of the best prepared MGBs out there at a very reasonable price. I looked all over to find such a car, and very few exist. The cost of the upgrades alone would cost more than the price of the car. That does not include finding such a nice rust free chrome bumper MGB.
