I am the 2nd owner of this beautiful 1976 Mercedes 300D. I have used this car as a daily driver for the last three year. I am only selling it because our family has outgrown the vehicle. The car is in great shape. It was restored in the late '90s by the previous owner. Since I have owned the vehicle I have replaced the following: glow plugs, fuel filters, starter, belts, tires (currently under 20,000 miles on tires), brakes, master cylinder, battery (A spare is included) and exhaust. I also have new tie rod ends that come with it. They are a little loose but I have not had a chance to change them. At one time I planned on converting this to WVO but I never found the time but I will throw in a heated fuel fitler with the car as well. I put a Sony CD player in it but I still have the original radio. The paint is slightly faded on the top. The rear tail light lens is cracked. There is no rust. The sunroof works and does not leak. This is a great car and a pleasure to drive. I hate to sell it. It will certainly make someone a nice car. The engine runs great and has great oil pressure. I was averaging 26 mpg in town driving. The transmission shifts great as well. Seller will be responsible for all shipping. The car has power windows that are completely functional. The power locks were disabled when i bought it due to a vacuum leak however I repaired the vacuum leak. The locks could easily be re-enabled at any time. On Dec-15-12 at 11:40:32 PST, seller added the following information: A few more additional items. The exhaust in the earlier pictures was hanging a little low - this was due to the rubber 'donut' brackets had fail. these need replaced about every 2 years and I missed it befre I took the earlier pictures. The latest pictures show the the new brackets in place. The A/C works but needs charged, the fuel gauge is not accurate, the rear bumper right shock is stuck. it has been that way as long as I have owned it. The heat works well. The dash has a couple of cracks in it that are fairly typical. The cruise does not work reliably. I change the oils every 5000 miles. i uses Rotella 15W 40 in the summer and Valvoline 10W 30 in the winter. I also add seal softener every other oil change. It has always started in the winter for me. I usually hit the glow plugs twice. It does not have a block heater. I have learned a little more about this vehicle. There were very few of these cars made with this option package. I have been asked by many if I would trust it to travel long distances.
