Vehicle Detail
I rescued this car from a 10 year storage from a cemented garage. I had an ASE certified mechanic replace the water pump, fuel pump, timing chain and gears. New plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Brand new Holley carb with electric choke, fires right up after sitting for weeks. Just had the oil changed. The paint is at least 12 years old and nothing is bubbling out, it looks very nice! Spent around $350.00 to get the taillights working. The headlights open and close too. The power top works also. I am listing this as a no reserve auction, if the bidding hits $10,500 the wheels and tires pictured go with the car, other wise the stock wheels and hubcaps will be installed. On Dec-10-12 at 09:06:38 PST, seller added the following information: Have had a lot of interest in this car, I will try to describe this car better. The paint is very nice, it does not need to be redone. It is not a 20 footer, not a 10 footer, it looks nice standing right next to it. The interior is leather, there are no rips or tears in the seats. The black carpet is faded a little, I believe it is all original. The power top has one little 1/4" rip in it, thats it, if I was a betting man, I would say it is original too. It starts right up, goes into gear right away, shifts fine, and the power disk brakes work great. The floor pans are a little soft I have new ones that go with the car, after the sale I could arrange to get them installed for around $800.00, and that would be done where you would not be able to tell they were replaced, not a quicky botch job. It could use the the gaskets on the power top replaced around the windows, the radio does not work, the AC compressor needs to be replaced, the power window switches are finicky, you have to play with them a little to make the windows go up and down. The good thing is the none if the issues need to be dealt with right away, you can just hop in and drive the car and enjoy it right away. If you are looking for a 1969 XR7 convertible, this is a very economical way to go, I have seen people asking $7000.00 for basket cases with no motor or tranny. On the other end of the spectrum is the $28,000.00 cars that you don't want to drive for fear of it getting all dirty or wrecked and losing value. Do some minor detailing and cleaning on this one and it wouldn't look a whole lot different than the big dollar cars.
