For your consideration is this extremely nice 1978 F150 shortbed 4x4. This truck has less than 85,000 ORIGINAL miles and has been very well maintained. 400M with 4 speed manual runs EXCELLENT and is complete with A/C and original smog equipment. I bought this truck in California after it passed the state's emission standards. Runs like new and transmission is perfect with absolutely no slop or play in the shifter. 4 wheel drive works great. There is no rust and the chassis still sports factory undercoating. Interior is in good shape with the original seat upholstery having a rip on the drivers side near the corner seam. Dash has some cracking but has a nice color matched dash pad. The ashtray opening has some aftermarket oil and temp gauges installed with a chrome bezel. Dash is otherwise stock and untouched with exception of a cheap aftermarket radio. Everything works including all of the dash lights. The door panels are in good shape but some 6x9 speakers were installed and the bottom edge of the panels were slighty trimmed for fitment but doesn't look too bad. The driver's side seatbelt is starting to fray a bit near the top but still functions properly. Floor has the original vinyl floormat and is pretty nice for the age. As for the body, The original paint is in good shape but could use a good buffing to bring back the shine. The roof top has some fading and a bit of paint deterioration. Body is VERY straight-- almost perfect but there is a tiny dent in the bed side and the driver side trim has a small imperfection near the marker light on the front fender. Grill and front bumper are beautiful. The bottom 6 inches of the body has had some bed liner type material sprayed to it which has helped prevent dents and dings and road rash. It actually looks pretty cool and there is NO rust in this body because of it. The bed has also been sprayed and also has a plastic liner installed over the coating. Truck has a 4" suspension lift with new coils up front and new leaves out back and new shocks all around. Rides great and handles great. Now for the bonus stuff... Truck has 5 brand new 35" Goodyear Wranglers mounted to Cepek mags. The matching spare has never been on the ground. Diamond plate full width locking toolbox comes filled with a new 650 Edelbrock carb and an MSD electronic distributor with transparent cap. Also a Weiand high rise 4bl intake and a pair of NICE headers. I did not install this stuff because the truck runs great and is smog legal but if you want to really dump some gasoline in this thing here's all the goodies to do just that. Also you will find a COMPLETE, still in the box, weatherstripping and seal kit for both doors, door jambs and front and back windows. To sum it up, this a very cool, very original, and very well maintained old ford that I use every day and would not be afraid to drive anywhere. As far as that goes, the winning bidder can fly in and drive it home. 10 miles away or 10,000! If you have been looking for a nice unmolested pickup to restore or drive as is this is the one!
