1985 Dodge Ramcharger NO RESERVE Thank You for viewing my 1985 Dodge Ramcharger. I love these rigs, my uncle had one when I was growing up as a kid in the late 1970's, they are a timeless classic. I have owned a few of these, and they are pretty special in my opinion. This one is a very nice example and in nice shape for its age. I can't believe 1985 is no almost 27 years ago. I remember back around that time, thinking that the 1965 Mustang was only 20 years old, how time flys. This Ramcharger, has been here in the Oregon area all of its life, still is wearing its original Yellow/Orange Oregon Plates issued to it in 1985. This Ramcharger you will find is rust free, there are no rust holes, there are no rust bubbles, the qaurters are very clean, the floors are very solid, you can see underneath, the floors. The odometer reads 20,374 currently, assume it had rolled over at least once, this was back before 6 digit odometers. Anyways, for its age, it is very clean, it is not a show car or anything, this is a very nice driver, that you will probably baby, and keep polished, and just drive it and enjoy it. I have been driving it around lately, and have gotten a lot of compliments from folks, saying that they have not seen one of these in this condition for a long time. As you already know, most of these have been used and abused, so it is hard to find one in this condition. This is a NO RESERVE auction which means, it will sell at the end to the highest bidder no matter what price, highest bidder owns it. I have a free, clear and clean title in my possession. The body on this Ramcharger is very nice. It has been repainted once from the factory. The paint is nice and glossy, and in good shape. It has a few little chips here and there, but very few actually. The largerest chip, is touched up, on the the drivers quarter, it is just touched up, something dinged the trim below it as the same time, pretty minor, but really this is the only touch up on the whole rig paint wise. The white is very nice. The red is in nice shape as well, and glossy, it could use a small cut and buff on the red, but overall I think it looks pretty nice the way it is. Guess all I am trying to say, for a driver, it looks excellent, if you want to enter it in a car show and win best of paint it won't win, but with that said, it is clean. There are no rust bubbles, or rust issues with this Ram, no signs of any rust repairs. The quarters are very clean, look at the rockers, around the wheel lip openings, very clean. Where you can really tell the integrity of any vehicle is underneath, and the inner framing, very clean, no signs of repairs, no signs of any major accidents, all inne panels are clean. The underneath is the same way, no issues, no rust, pretty amazing on a rig like these. Folks from the East Coast, will be amazed at the condition of this body. We have cool summers, and mild winters here in Oregon, and we do not salt the roads, which here in the Northwest have saved many of our cars inside and out, you will save thousands of your hard earned money on a rig like this that does not need rust repairs. The Glass is all good, it had a windshield replaced in 2007. There are no chips in any of the glass, all very clean. The windows roll up and down with ease. The chrome trim is all intact, nothing missing. There are some light dings on some of the trim, you can see them in the pictures. Some of the aluminum trim, needs to be polished, they have some light hazing to them, but will clean up nice. The bumpers are very nice on this rig, very clean. It does have a 4 way wire plug tucked up underneath rear bumper. The drivers side tailight bezel at the bottom, has some chips broken off at the bottom, you can see this in the pictures. That red lens also has some hairline cracks in it. All the exterior lights are working even the back up lights, and lic. plate light. The grill area is in nice shape as well. Someone a long time ago, put a little sealant around some of the rubber gaskets on window corners, not sure if there were leaks or not, or just gaps. There are no signs of any leaks inside the interior, carpet and interior is very nice. There is a few small light dings to mention. On the passenger side on quarter, on white area there are 2 light dings, they could probably be taken out by a paintless dent guy for $100 and you would probably never notice. There is one light ding on top of the hood, on passenger side. I show pictures of these dings they are light, but they are there. There are no major dents of anykind, all the panels all line up very nice, all the inner door jams look good and clean as well. I love the Curved glass on the qaurter windows, they look great. The vent on the roof is factory. Overall exterior and undercarriage for the age, looks great. Very hard to find one in this shape. The interior, is very nice. The seats are original, and show very little wear on them. The dash pad is in great shape, no cracks. The carpet is original, and very clean, a few light stains, but for the age, clean. It is a non smoker rig as well. What is amazing in the headliner, it is perfect, no sags, no stains, these headliners usually did not hold up like this one. The door panels, have been repainted before or there faded a bit, but they look in good condition, no broken or cracked. The panels in the rear are nice, the drivers side, has a small tear in it. The center console opens, the lock and push button are missing on it, but it does open and close with ease. It does have a spare tire, I took it out so you could see panels. The spare is not original, it has a tire on it that does not look so hot, but it will work if you ever need it. Overall a clean interior. Mechanically it is in good shape. It has the original engine, it is a 360 V8. It has been upgraded with a cam and lifters, aluminum 4v intake manifold, and headers. Other then that it is basically stock, not running any of the smog stuff on it anymore. The engine starts right up, still using its original 4v carb. It idles nicely, the choke could be adjusted a little, does not kick down as fast as I like it, but it does run good. It sounds very good, has lots of power. It does not blow any smoke or any signs of burning oil. It has headers on it, and mufflers, but you will want to run tail pipes out the rear if you want in the future, for now it is very driveable as is, maybe just put some little dumps off the mufflers. The transmission shifts nice, factory bullet proof 727 AT trans. There are no unusual noises, in the drive train, everything shifts nice, ujoints are quite and so is rearend. The brakes work good, the power booster is working as well. I have put it in 4wd and it is all connected and working. The gauges look to be be functioning, but the temp gauge, only goes up a little, I think it is not working, but the rig does not have any cooling issues. The other gauges are working. The heater works excellent, and the radio been upgraded with a AM/FM/CD player, the radio sound great. All the interior lights are working, some of the little lens on the interior lights in rear have small cracks. Mechanically you can drive this RamCharger anywhere, I trust it personally, it is a good daily driver for sure. With that said it is not perfect, so please don't think you will never have a problem with it, it is an old rig, 27 years old, it is used. The tires are Remington 31X10.5 R15LT they are in excellent shape, no cracks, with around 85% tread on them. The wheels are in good shape, factory Aluminum wheels and caps. It is NOT a trailer queen, but is a nice time capsule, that can be driven and enjoyed, Look at all the pictures, study them, and read the auction.
