Christmas is just around the corner. Imagine this car in your driveway with a big red bow on it! Up for bidding here is a very nice Real 1987 Monte Carlo SS. I purchased this car several months ago and just finished a cosmetic restoration. The original color of the car was silver but I painted it white because I feel they look better in white. Overall it was a pretty decent car to start with. I hand made steel patch panels for the rear quarters both in front of and behind the tires. If you know these cars then you know they have a tendency to rust in those areas. The car was Ziebarted when new which is most likely why it wasn't a total rust bucket when I started. I did all of the work myself in my shop and it was all done the right way with steel and all of the jams were painted as well as the underside of the trunk lid. I even painstakingly removed all of the Ziebart plugs before I did the bodywork and paint and then reinstalled them. All of the exterior trim as well as the mirrors, locks, door handles, strikers, and jam vents were all removed prior to paint. No corners were cut. The car came out pretty nice and will be an awesome driver for anyone. I ran the numbers on the motor and it comes back as a 305 out of a '91 Firebird so at some point the motor was changed. Not sure of the mileage, but it most likely has 169k on it. The floors and trunk look very good with no rot that I saw. The car is fully loaded and only needs a few minor things to be complete. As you can see, there is no radio but the wiring is there. I have not tested the A/C, but the compressor spins freely by hand. The seats have some small burn holes and the drivers seat has a few tears on the sides. I think you can see them in the pictures. The drivers seat is power. All of the lights work as well as the horn and wipers. I did not have to do any mechanical work to the car because it does run very well. I have driven it around and its a blast. It turns heads everywhere I go. New stuff: Paint (less than 15 miles on it since it was painted) Weatherstripping Front parking light housings Carpet Headliner Locks The tires have plenty of tread and I just had the car aligned.
