1966 Amphicar. I believe its one of the last years built as it has the crackle finish paint at the top of the doors. It's been sitting around in the garage too much. Just don't have time to use it anymore, got it out three or four times this year and thats the first its been out in the last four years. Made it to the International Amphicar Clubs convention in Celina Ohio a couple times starting in 2001, I believe. (See 3rd picture, I'm second row from bottom, very left) Also one of the Illinois Rock River events held by Dave the Wave. (The bildge pump jammed had to get out of the water after an hour and take to the roads) The engine purrs nice and quite and the transmisssion is nice and smooth. Has not been in the water for 4 years now. I did a minor restoratation on it back in 2001. Rechromed bumpers, replaced wheel cylinders, master cylinder, brake hoses, engine tuned up, muffler, 5 new tires and a few things here and there. The rear quarter panels are the typical Amphicar with some rusting. Its been repaired before and repainted. The underside of hood, trunk and car are excellant and rust free. A nice mostly original Amphicar. The engine compartment is oily, which is a good thing for rust. The transmission mounts look good (see photo), areas look like they were undercoated (see picture with dipstick), battery area shows some rust (see photo) Included in sale are some new parts I've been collecting for a complete restoration some day. new door seals, oil cooler hoses, wipers, side mouldings, bildge blower intake, modern double master cylinder.
