Vehicle Detail

CAR IS LOCATED IN CHARLOTTE, NC. Clear Title. You are bidding on one very rare and VERY solid 1972 Fiat 850 Spider with only 47K miles! Runs and drives great. Engine has been removed and detailed along with installation of new clutch, head gasket and carburetor rebuilt. I have all receipts. No wrecks! Body very nice. Rockers and floors solid as can be, some surface rust on outer rockers but nothing structural. X-BRACE IS SOLID THROUGH AND THROUGH. I got this from a friend who kind of got in over their head and was not too familiar with Fiats. NEW: Clutch, Battery, Top, Head Gasket, Carburetor Rebuild, Plugs, Wires, Cap, Rotor and Points, Radiator Cap, Radiator Hoses, Engine Belts. All electrical working except for gas sending unit and temperature sending unit and aftermarket fog lights and horn. The headlight switch is broken and is always in the on position. These are easy to find and easy to install. I am not very good with electrical stuff, so I am leaving these things up to the new owner. This is not a perfect show car, but can be enjoyed as is as you fix little things here and there. Here are the details: TONS OF PHOTOS AND VIDEO HERE ON PHOTOBUCKET: http://s200.beta.photobucket.com/user/velocejoe/library/FIAT%20850%20Spider%201972/ There is also a link at the bottom of this description. BODY: Very nice. Older respray holding up well. Not the best but not the worst paint work. 7 out of 10. I cannot get the driver door to shut all the way flush. It shuts fine and stays latched. The right body guy or someone with more experience can probably get it right. The top cover has some depressions in it which push out from the bottom side, but wont stay pushed out. Once again the right body person could easily rectify this, not very noticeable. There are a couple of scratches on the top cover from where the top was taken on and off right near the hooks. There are some spots here and there of some surface rust under the paint, mostly along the rockers in a few isolated areas and just a few on the front doglegs(see photobucket). Rockers are solid, inner and outer rockers. Overall the body is in great shape as these cars are very hard to find with minimal corrosion. No big dents. A couple of parking lot dings, nothing serious. The convertible top is BRAND NEW and functions well but needs to be left on, closed for awhile and doused with sunlight on some warm days as it is tough to cinch closed. It will stretch out some as time goes on. The top needs the seal installed along the front header where it meets the windshield, as I did not have an extra one when I installed the top and the one that was on there was worn out. Glass is good except windshield has a small crack which could be fixed and a passenger wiper scratch which could be buffed out. Weatherstripping and window felt in fair condition. CHASSIS: SOLID, SOLID, SOLID. Photos speak for themselves. No X-Brace rot, rear suspension points solid as well as all jack points. Floors solid, Rockers solid. I can find no issues with structural rust anywhere. The battery box does have some corrosion but is still holding up fine. This is the only real issue I can find on this thing. Only normal surface rust on some suspension pieces. Brakes work fine. Tires are Michelin Weatherwise 155/80-13, with plenty of tread life left, probably 60% or better. TRANSMISSION: New clutch. Shifts great, the second gear syncro is in good shape but does require the right touch as this was an issue on all 850s. ENGINE: Removed and detailed to a nice standard. CYLINDER COMPRESSION IS 145, 150, 150, 150 COLD front to back. No major leaks. The rear main has a slight seep, but nothing out of the ordinary for an 850. New head gasket just installed. head decked .2mm. I have receipts for all work done and parts purchased. NEW: Head Gasket, Carburetor Rebuilt, Belts, Plugs, Wires, Cap, Rotor, Points, Radiator Cap, Radiator Hoses, Choke and Throttle Cables. Cranks up every time, runs well, very smooth. Gets around 28-30MPG. INTERIOR: Pretty nice. Door panels good, some wear near the top of each. Seats in great shape, a few small nicks here and there, overall in good condition. Dash has some cracks which is normal for an 850(see photobucket). Floor mats are in fair to good shape, they are original and holding up fine, some splits here and there. ELECTRICAL: New Battery. All electrical working except temp sending unit and fuel sending unit, aftermarket fog lights and horn. I will probably get the horn working tomorrow. I tested the temp and fuel gauges and they work fine, so the sending units are in need of replacement. I have been using an auxiliary temp gauge for safety. Light switch is in the on position always. I have not investigated these issues too much as electrical is not my strong point, so I am leaving this up to the new owner. These are very easy things and this is a VERY simple car, so it should not be a big deal rectifying these few things. Please feel free to ask any questions. I have 100% positive feedback for a reason. Thanks and good luck. I can assist with delivery within a few hundred, NOT THOUSANDS, of miles for a fee. Ok, here is all the stuff I have to list to protect myself. IF YOU HAVE ZERO OR NEGATIVE FEEDBACK, YOU MUST CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING, IF NOT, YOUR BID WILL BE CANCELED, NO EXCEPTIONS!!! On Nov-24-12 at 08:19:19 PST, seller added the following information: The stock mechanical fuel pump has been upgraded with an electronic setup and a fuel pump block off plate was installed. Forgot to mention that. Thanks. On Nov-24-12 at 08:24:43 PST, seller added the following information: I have the antenna for the front passenger fender. On Nov-25-12 at 10:01:47 PST, seller added the following information: BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL SHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS. I CAN ASSIST WITH DELIVERY WITHIN A COUPLE HUNDRED MILES. Example: 500 MILES IS NOT A COUPLE HUNDRED.On Nov-26-12 at 16:49:22 PST, seller added the following information: Electrical update: Messed with horn tonight, relay clicks, but no horn, so not sure what the deal is, like I said, electrical is not my forte, but these are very simple cars. While messing with horn the left front turn signal lights up when you hit the switch, but does not blink. It was doing fine. I do know that this is indicative of it grounding out somewhere? Checked and all wiring looked good, right hand front turn signal works fine. I believe most of these things are tied to the headlight switch, which is always in the on position, no matter where you put the lever. Right rear turn signal not coming on nor is left rear. Brake lights work on rear. The left hand license plate lamp bulb is burnt out. I could not get the cover off and did not want to mess it up trying. The reverse lights did not come on when in reverse, maybe something simple, like I said, I am NOT an electrical guy. Just wanted to get this out there and be upfront. Thanks.
