SELLING MY 1965 MERCURY COMET. I PURCHASED THIS CAR APPROX. 2 YRS. AGO. SINCE PURCHASE THIS CAR HAS UNDERGONE MANY MAJOR TRANSFORMATIONS WHICH I WILL DESCRIBE TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY. NUMBERS MATCHING DOES NOTHING FOR ME SO KEEP IN MIND I BUILD THEM THE WAY I INVISION WHAT WOULD APPEAL TO ME THE MOST(A MIX OF OLD AND NEW AND BLENDING THEM TOGETHER TO GIVE THIS STREETROD A UNIQUE LOOK). 1. WE'LL START WITH THE BODY: EVERYTHING WAS DISASSEMBLED, FENDERS, HOOD, DOORS, TRUNK, BUMPERS WHICH WERE (RECHROMED) GLASS AND ALL STAINLESS WAS REMOVED AND POLISHED. AT THIS POINT ALL PARTS AND WHAT WAS LEFT OF BODY ON SUB-FRAME WAS SODA BLASTED AND TAKEN DOWN TO BARE METAL. IT WAS THEN PRIMED, SANDED AND PAINTED WITH HOUSE OF COLORS BC-25 AND CLEARED. CRITES CYCLONE RAM-AIR HOOD REPLACED THE STOCK HOOD. REMOVED BADGES FROM REAR QUARTERS, ALSO REMOVED LETTERS FROM TRUNK AND DIDN'T INSTALL LETTERS ON HOOD. NEW EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES,TAIL LENSES. 2. CHASSIS CONSISTS OF NEW CONTROL ARMS (UPPER AND LOWER) NEW COIL SPRINGS,NEW SHOCKS,TIE ROD ENDS, STABILIZER LINKS,PITMAN ARM. CAR HAS NEW MASTER CYLINDER,NEW WHEEL CYLINDERS NEW DRUMS, SHOES AND ALL NEW HARDWARE FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL WHEEL. MONROE MAX-AIR SHOCKS IN REAR CONTIBUTE TO THE STANCE THE CAR HAD IN THE 60'S AND 70'S. WHEN PUT BACK TOGETHER ALL NEW MOULDING CLIPS,WEATHERSTRIPPING AND WINDSHIELD RUBBERS(FRONT AND REAR) WERE USED.3.DRIVETRAIN CONSISTS OF REBUILT 302 CU.IN. MOTOR W/APPROX. 5K MI. ON IT. MOTOR HAS MILD CAM, EDLEBROCK INTAKE, 4BBL.NEW H.E.I. DISTRIBUTOR,NEW WIRES, NEW POLISHED VALVE COVERS, NEW OIL PAN.NEW MOTOR MOUNTS AND TRANNY MOUNT, NEW FLYWHEEL, PRESSURE PLATE,CLUTCH DISC AND THROW-OUT BEARING. FULL TUBE HEADERS TO FLOWMASTERS AND TAILPIPES EXITING AT THE REAR OF CAR. CAR HAS A BORG-WARNER WORLD CLASS T-5 WITH NEW HURST SHIFTER. TRANNY HAD TO BE MODIFIED WITH NEW TAILSHAFT HOUSING TO CHANGE SHIFTING POINT TO ACCOMODATE BENCH SEAT INTERIOR. REAR IS STOCK 3.00 4. INTERIOR TOTALLY REDONE: HEADLINER, DOOR PANELS,SEATS, AND CARPETS ALMOST 100 SQ. FT. OF DYNA-MAT USED TO INSULATE AND SOUNDPROOF CAR. 5.CHROME AMERICAN RACING TORQUE-THRUST ll FRONT-17X7IN. W/215/45ZR/17'S REAR 17X8IN. W/225/45ZR/17'S. HAVE EVERYTHING TO FINISH INSTALL OF A/C WHICH BLEW ICE-COLD BEFORE DISASSEMBLY. CAR IS SOLD AS IS WITH NO WARRANTY IMPLIED.
