Greetings - Up for Auction is this 1978 Ford Diamond Jubilee Anniversary Edition Thunderbird. The Diamond Jubilee was a Special Model that was produced in Limited Numbers to Commemorate Fords 75th Anniversary. In doing so they produced a Special Model with a Covered Rear Roof Canopy that eliminated the rear most side glass and gave this car and elegant look. In fact everyone thinks it is a Mark V. This is a real nice and well cared for Anniversary car with 88,000 miles in Diamond Blue Metallic and with a Deluxe Interior that includes Double Hand Stitched Leather Dash Pad, Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel and Basket Weave Plush Seating with 36 ounce Deep Cut Pile Carpet throughout including the Trunk Area. The interior is Very Nice with No Rips or Tears in the upholstery or Cracks in the dash. The Diamond Jubilee Thunderbird was one of the most luxurious cars that you could buy in 1978 with a full list Standard Equipment that rivaled any other cars in that decade. Equipment included GT Instrumentation with Tachometer, Air Conditioning (Works Great), Intermittent Wipers, Power Windows, Power Locks, Cruise Control, Power Seats, Power Antenna, Power Deck Lid Release and much more. The Exterior is Very Nice as well with No Dents or Physical Damage on any of the Body Panels, Bumpers or Impact Moldings. The Paint is real Nice in Diamond Blue Metallic. Although the paint does have some cosmetic imperfections, some chipping and about a four inch scratch in the clear coat over the left wheel well this does not detract from the Beauty of this Automobile. The Paint is Bright, Shiny and Smooth to the touch. This is a very well maintained vehicle that has always been maintained to be road ready. This is not a car that was left to sit and deteriorate on the side of the house from weather and non-use. This car was garaged most of its life and it shows not only from its cosmetic condition but in the way It Rides and Drives as well, which is Beautifully. There are No Suspension or Steering Problems whatsoever. All four Shocks have been recently replaced with Monroe HD Gas Shocks. The engine A 351 Windsor, Ford FMX Transmission and Ford 9 inch Rear End are in Peak condition and this car runs incredibly smooth with NO Known Problems of any kind. There is no oil consumption or leaks. The engine compartment is clean and unmodified from stock. It has a new full Dual Exhaust System, converted from a single exhaust, this is the only thing that has been modified on this car. A real HiWay Cruiser, This is a Road Car that has no equal. Add up the Ride, Comfort, Smoothness, Performance and the great fuel mileage that this car gets on the highway and you will soon see that this car has no equal on the highway. I would drive this car from Los Angeles to New York tomorrow with reservation or hesitation. With its 351 Windsor Motor instead of the "M" series of engines that most of these cars had, it is very efficient. This car easily knocks down a reliable 20-22 mpg on the highway at a constant 75 mph. It also does very well in town and around the city. The cruise control works perfect and better than any other car that I have ever had.
