Vehicle Detail

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction for a 1970 Fiat 850 Sedan/Berlina!!! This cute car starts, runs, drives and stops well. There are no major mechanical issues I am aware off. It is not a show car but will make a nice car for the Fiat enthusiast who is not willing to spend much time and money in restoration. Previous owner has restored it including replacing floor boards, side boards, etc he did not give me receipts but estimated total expenses in the $6-7000 range including price of the car. It has a little surface rust in the front hood bottom area where the spare wheel normally sits (see pictures for details), some slight rust along the inner upper windshield rubber area but no major rust issues that I can see. Car had some sort of dent on the right rear quarter panel and was fixed by previous owner and primed and will need painting. Engine is carbureted, I believe it has 815 or 850cc, I am not sure. It has a manual choke and will start well and pulls well, obviously going up the hill will be slower with this engine power. I've had the car for less than a month and drove it for several miles from my house and I have not noticed any issues. I drove it up to 55mph but should go to 70+mph. Engine temperature gauge works and the highest I've seen it is around 30% of the max even when idling for a while. Drives straight, brakes work well including hand brake and the 4-speed manual transmission shifts well. Brakes and tires are good and all lights, wipers, turn signals, gauges, heater, etc work well. There will be some patina of age showing on the plastic parts but seats and door panels look excellent, probably recovered by previous owner. Speedometer is in mpg. I noticed that seatbelts are missing as is the headliner (but there is a headliner on the parts car, see below and the seatbelt mounting bolts are there and you should be able to find them easily). There is no smoke coming from the engine. I did notice a slight oil leak under the engine area, I have not had the time to look into it, it could be an oil seal or the engine oil pan which looks to have been replaced with an aluminum oil pan. The leak is slight, I noticed a few spots of oil under the engine one day after I drove it around. Overall, it it a nice car, looks presentable and will save you thousands in restoration costs if you were to try to rebuild one yourself. I have the paperwork from previous owner, a repair manual and several keys. I will provide a Bill of Sale, it is what I have from the previous owner including prior registration in Rhode Island, there is no title and I believe this is all you need to register the car under your name. Car has the Fiat labels present in the rear engine compartment and the VIN label on the front dash panel. I will include a parts car in this auction, a 1965 Fiat 850. It has major rust underneath, previous owner painted it black and obviously covered up rust areas but should provide lots of hard-to-find Fiat parts. It has the engine and an Idroconvert transmission (a type of clutch-less transmission), good glass and excellent dark brown seats (see pictures). Most dashboard gauges, controls are there but brakes were taken apart so car does not have any working brakes. Prior to transport, I purchased and installed four new tires (included). I have additional parts provided by the previous owner including another engine and transmission, a door, a set of rear windows with rubber and can include them in this auction if so desired. Car is sold as is, where it is and there is no expressed or implied warranty. Shipping is the buyers responsibility, I will make myself available for delivery and help as possible. I expect prompt payment and prompt pick up within 5-7 days, if you cannot arrange for shipping within this time, be aware that I will be away Nov 14-27 and you will have to wait to pick up the cars when I return. For size estimates, the car should fit into a 14-15 foot U-Haul truck but I am not sure U-Haul allows this (so I cannot recommend it) and you will need a flat-bed trailer for the parts car (remember it is rear wheel drive so a dolly trailer won't work unless you disconnect the driveshaft). Make sure you have the funds available when you bid; payment expected in cash or cashier's check, no personal checks and all funds must clear before car is picked up. I expect professionalism and will provide the same, it is how I maintained a 100% feedback rating on Ebay! Thank you for your interest, please call or text any questions (714) 336-5962.
