This is my 3rd re-listing- the last auction's winning bid claimed he was affected by Hurricane Sandy and thus never completed the transaction and the previous high bid didn't complete the sale because he said he didn't know I was a third party selling it for the owner. Please, if you (1)don't have your finances together, (2)aren't willing to make a deposit in 48 hours on PayPal, (3)complete the sale and pick up in seven days(3) aren't willing to pay the balance with a certified/cashiers check, cash or a wire transfer, I would prefer that you search for another car. Please ask all questions prior to the auctions close. I am selling this vehicle for the owner. His name is on the title. You are buying this vehicle from the owner, not me, I'm only acting as the auctioneer. This is a LOW RESERVE, low mileage (71,420) 1988 Porsche 944 Turbo, 1 adult owner, never tracked, service records back to the beginning(timing belt and clutch were changed when the car had 30,000 + miles, which was over ten years ago), garaged, oil changed & inspected yearly, charcoal gray metallic/tan, no modifications, all original & complete with two keys, manual, bags, tools, bra. Has good spare, jack, compressor. Has suspension option code #220. Starts immediately, idles smoothly, shifts (trans. & clutch work great), no odors or major leaks, accessories (power windows, mirrors, seats, door locks, wipers, horn, lights) are working and gauges appear accurate. No cracks in dash, glass(all original) in good condition. The car is representative of a "driver" and the condition is "normal wear & tear" for it's age. Doesn't look like it was babied but not abused either. Clean NY title. Was driven from upstate NY to my home in the suburbs of Philadelphia, so is in good enough shape for a fairly long journey. There are some minor(all fixed rather easily) dings(could be removed by a paintless dent removal tech., since paint isn't broken), a bumper scuff, cracking paint(small area on sunroof and area on the hood), dent(behind the driver's side rear wheel well), previous paintwork(driver's door), ABS light is on, a/c not working, heat feels like it's on all the time, blower works only on high, sunroof not working(can hear motor but doesn't open-one latch is missing), steering wheel needs to be centered, some shake when applying the brakes(probably front brake rotors are warped), sounds like an exhaust leak on passenger side. Has current NY state safety inspection. Good tires matching all around. This is a good candidate for leaving it as a driver(albeit straightening out the mechanical issues), or restoring it, because of the relatively low mileage, the legendary longevity of the motor, Porsche heritage, engineering, quality, etc.- needs some TLC and a good detailing, especially good for a PCA member or anyone who plans on doing the work by themselves. They're becoming more difficult to find, especially without modifications and low mileage.
