I discovered this extremely nice 1986 Suzuki Samurai “Tin Top” in Reno, Nevada. As the Auto check report will show, it has lived in dessert climates in California and Nevada all of its 26 year life. The odometer shows 39013 miles. The actual miles are 139013 as the odometer has rolled over. This Samurai will be sold as “miles exempt” as it is over 10 years of age. Its “Sun Kissed” original paint patina reminds us of a well-worn pair of blue jeans…the kind you want to slip into everyday!

I returned to my shop and began a complete mechanical and cosmetic service on this Samurai. My mechanic replaced the clutch and rear main seal. He installed a new shift bushing kit, lube/oil and filter and completed a full inspection. The timing belt, water pump and timing belt tensioner were recently replaced by the previous owner and my mechanic’s inspection confirmed that this was done. The tires are nearly new. The interior sports its original carpet and has had the seats redone in a comfortable durable fabric. The door panels and side panels are in excellent condition. We have installed a new headliner and radio antennae. All the gauges and electrics work properly.

The Tin Top is tight and comfortable. IT IS RUST FREE! This vehicle will climb the “Teton Pass’s 10% grades at 40 miles per hour in third gear and cruise all day long at 70 miles per hour. It shifts thru all 5 gears and reverse smoothly up and down. The 4 Wheel Drive The brakes will stop you on a dime and it handles great! If you are tired of paying a mortgage payment for your gasoline every time you fill up you will enjoy its 30 plus miles per gallon!

This Samurai is truly a well-preserved “Time Capsule” If you are looking for a trailer queen, this in not the Samurai Tin Top for you. But if you want a Samurai to drive and enjoy, This One is PERFECT!
