1928 Hudson Essex 3 Window Coupe Rat Rod on a 1949 Ford Truck Frame with Original Flat Head Six And Standard Transmission. Rebuilt By Authorized Ford Motor Co. Boston Reconditioned Cylinder Assembly.Year Done? Suppose To Have 5 Thou On Motor,By Looks I Belive It. I Bought This For A Project, But At This Time I Need To Sell Her.I Bought This Not Running Mostly Because of The Engine.The Oil In It Was Excellant. All I'v Done To Her Is Described In Ad.I couldn't get good side pics cause My 66 Cutlass was in the way. I'v Seen Just These Shell of Bodys Going For $4k.Sitting On Saw Horses. Rear Bumper Bent When I Was Moving It I Got Caught Between Bumper And Garage.( Broke My Leg And Ankle,So I Lost 4 Months Of Time.) Bought It Not Running, I Added An Alternater Wired As Generator,Fuel Pump Was Leaking At Diaframe So I Pluged In An Electric, I Flushed Radiator She Has Fresh Coolant, Has Electric Fan For Cooling. I Wired 3 Toggle Switchs For ,Coil,Fan,Fuel Pump.All Into A New 8 Post Fuse Panel. She Runs Now But When I Tried To Put Her In Gear, Clutch Or Throw Out Bearing Not Working,So This Is As Far As I Can Go. I Use a Remote Start To Jump Start.Got The Old Push Button But Not Mounted. She Also Needs Brakes Done.And Yes There Is a Bullet Hole In Cab Drivers Side. Decent Gas Tank Behind Seat But Other Than Mess With That I Put In A Marine Gas Tank Just To Get Her Running. Has A Crude Spacer or Adaptor Plate Under Carb,She Runs So I Haven't Mess With Carb. Suicide Doors with Antique Hinges, Slide Bolts Inside Doors To Keep Closed. Square Hole In Roof Has A Sunroof Sitting Over Hole Not Mounted. Windsheild Not Mounted,It's Just A Piece Of Plexy Glass That came With Her. White Spot On Shifter Is Where I Heated Shaft To Bend It Cause I Was Hitting Dash Shifting Into 1st Gear.Shifts Fine When Not Running. Again,Need To Check Throw Out Bearing or Clutch. The Other Lever Bolted To Trans By Shifter Is Emergency Brake Lever That Pulls Cables On Rear Brakes.Cables Need To Be Replaced And Lever Needs To Be Bent or Moved Cause Its Positioned Under Dash. 1 Shock in Front Missing But Mount is All Good. Some Xtra Parts Shown in Pics, Tail Lights,Trunk Pull Gas Filler Neck And Cap. I Found A Gamers Seat That Works Good. Floor Board Not Nailed Down So I Took It Out For Pics Of Frame,and Such. Yes There Is A Double Sink In Trunk That Everyone Told Me I Sould Leave In.I Think Original Trunk Lid Opened The Other Way and There Was a Rumble Seat. Starts Right Up,and Stays Running,Gas Peddle Kinda Works,Pivot Style,Still Needs Attention. What You See Is what You Get. I See Alot Of Rat Rods With Big V-8s But With Gas At These Prices The 6 Banger Would Go Alot Further On a Gallon And Is Alot Rarer. I'd Maybe Put In An Automatic Trans And Sell The Standard,She Could Still Burn The Tires And Be Just As Quick. This Has Been A Head Turner Just Sitting By My Garage I Have People Having To Stop And Check It Out And Asking About It. I'v Had Alot Of Cars And Trucks That My Wife Would Not Ride In But For Some Reason She Was Excited About This Hudson And Thought It Would Be Fun Cruizing In It. I'm a Tool Maker/ Machinist Of Over 20 Years But Have been Out Of Work Going On 3 Years,Unemployment Only Lasted 1 Year Till They Booted Me Off it. Most Companys In My Area Either Closed Or Moved.Now I'm Looking At Being Under Employed By Working Through Temp Services At Lower Wages and No Benefits. I Had A Question About Frame Width,Outside Frame Measures 32" @ Front,33" Middle And 34" At Rear, Best I Could Measure Holding Tape By Myself. Rat Rod Serial Numbers, vehicle identification numbers (VIN) and titles. Very few rat rodders ever held a title to the various parts of cars they found in fields or bought from a junkyard.
