1963 Triumph TR4 with an Aluminum Surrey Top, Overdrive and Wire Wheels. This black plate California car was sold by British Motors of San Jose as a used car to the second owner who drove the car into the early 1970's and then parked it here in northern CA to repair a leaking rear main seal. the motor was pulled and the car has remained parked in a carport ever since. The bad: the radiator and motor are missing, but the exhaust and intake manifolds and carburetors are included. the hood, rusty along the leading edge, both front fenders and the right inner fender have been repaired, see photos. there is a small amount of bondo in the deck lid, the windshield is broken as is the driver's door glass. the horn button, seats and tracks are missing. the right front wheel is incorrect; too many spokes, but the spare is correct. the gas tank filler cap, the deck lid lettering, both head light rings and the two front bumper guards are missing. The good: it has an aluminum surrey top in very restorable and complete condition, the removable panel has several soft dents but the 3 headliner bows and trailing edge stainless trim are there and the original Triplex back glass is in good condition. the ID tag ends in O indicating overdrive was fitted at the factory and the overdrive transmission is intact. the doors and deck lid fit well, the floors are very solid and are still covered with the original paint as is the trunk floor. this is a very nice restorable body shell, the top is an incredibly rare factory accessory and the overdrive transmission is another nice plus.
