CLICK ABOVE VIDEO TO SEE AND HEAR RUNNING! Here is a fresh out of the barn 1949 Oldsmobile 88 Futuramic. I found this car sitting in a collectors barn. It had been there for many years. It is truly amazing. A truly unmolested original car. Never modified or hot rodded. Original paint showing the proper signs of patina and still shines well in most areas. (I even had the car looked at by two body guys they both agree the paint is original.) All the hard to find chrome is there except for one small piece on the pass side rear. Original interior. From what we can tell, the original Rocket V8 engine has never been apart. This car did not run or drive when I picked it up. My mechanic and I set out to go though it completely and fix what needed to be fixed to make it a running and driving car. Some of the things that have been done include: New fuel lines new fuel pump tank cleaned carb rebuilt complete tune up of engine all engine fluids changed new water pump all new cooling hoses new brake lines new master cylinder new front wheel cylinders new battery This car starts right up and runs great. It drives around fine. It is ready for the next owner to do something special with it. This could be left as is, made into a cool rat rod, restored completely, really anything you want. It is a great place to start for any type of project. The body and under carriage are in surprisingly great shape. There is some rot on the floor on the drivers side as you can see in the pics. A little bit on the drivers side wheel well area. Other than that it is really solid. Trunk is solid too. The nice thing about this car is everything is there. All the trim , interior, original trim rings and hubcaps, (yes the red painted wheels are the original ones this is how they came). This is one that you don't find often. Look at the others out there. There is a lot of junk for sale. This a truly a time capsule for a really low price. I will assist with any shipping, but the cost is your responsibility. It is nice to see that people appreciate these cars. Let me answer some of the questions here for all to see. Yes, original paint. I know it is hard to believe but it is true. Possibly original tires with tubes. Not 100% sure. Three speed automatic brakes are good. Frame is in great shape. No, I wouldn't drive it 1000 miles home, but it's your choice.Best to have a trailer for a car this old. chrome is in great shape. some rust and pitting but not much. no carpet emergency brake works Yes you can make offers.
