Up for bid is this 1973 Mustang Convertible. I am selling this car for my mother. She bought the car around 6 years ago, The guy she bought it from said it was a California car, he had the carb rebuilt, and had just freshly painted the car. The car runs and drives well, it has glasspack mufflers, but it's not too loud unless you get on it. The top was also replaced by the previous owner just prior to my mother purchasing it, And new tires, less than 2,000 miles have been put on the car since, lots of tread left. Odometer reads 95,000, but we have no documentation, we were however told that it was accurate and I believe it. There is a ding in the rear drivers side fender shown in the pictures, it was hit in a parking lot, and nothing was done except I sanded it down and put some touch up paint on it, the piece of chrome or stainless trim that goes on that fender was ruined. The black insert on the hood is essentially a large decal, and last summer one day in the sun a blister formed, then popped, and peeled, that is what you see on the hood, colored in with black marker. There are a few chips that have been touched up, but overall the paint job still looks good. The rear bumper is pitted a bit. Underside of the car is very clean, some surface rust in the trunk under the mat due to condensation, and down in the corner of the fender wells is a bit of flaky surface rust shown in pics. The interior of the car is pretty good, It is tan, which is supposedly what the exterior of the car was before it was painted, so, yes, it is not the original color, the seats have a bit of seperation on a few seams, but are really not bad and will last a long time to come, door panels have some cracking, dash is perfect, carpet is excellent, C.D. player/stereo installed in glove box, fuel gauge is not working, top goes up and down quickly and smoothly (it is a power top), there is a boot or cover for the top when it is down, but it has never fit right, just a bit too tight, could probably be mended, there is a spare tire, jack, etc.., just took it out to take pictures, The car has a 2 bbl. carb, I'm not a Mustang guy, so as far as the engine type matching the car, I have no idea, you have the vin, look it up.
