Vehicle Detail
This is a very nice 1973 Pontiac GrandVille Convertable with 80262 miles. It is a one owner car that is still titled to the original owners son of the same name. The car is in outstanding mechanical condition. The original 455cid engine was rebuilt around the 60000 mile mark after the cam had lost a lobe. The motor was pulled and rebuilt.Rings, bearings, cam and lifters, timing set,oil pump, and a complete valve job with hardened seats for unleaded gas. And it runs outstanding.Great oil pressure at idle 35psi hot. Very smooth with almost no blowby at all!! Pulls smooth and strong as only big blocks do! The transmission shifts crisp and at the correct time.No driveline noises at all.Like bad axle bearings,U-Joints,rear end howl. The front end is tight with good ball joints and tyerod ends. The car tracks strait down the road with no wander, pull, or shake. The brakes are 50% plus front and rear, and the exhaust is fairly new with zero leaks! All fluids are fresh and clean. The body is also very good.It got a scuff and repaint in the late 80s and still is OK from twenty feet. The pictures show the thin paint in spots. It was garaged every night so the floors and trunk are good. Please look at the pictures.I always pull the seats and carpets to check the floors! After wire brushing a few surface rust spots, I POR-15 painted the spots to kill any further corrosion.Front fenders, hood, doors and trunk are very good with no rust bubbles and no dents. The rear quarters have had repairs over the wheel wells with no bubbles coming through at all.The top needs to be replaced, but does go up and down fine.Everything on the car works as expected, with the exception of the A/C that was not recharged when the engine was rebuilt.I would put a new reciever dryer on the car before it was recharged. The interior is really nice! The carpet is original with only a little sun fadeing over the humps. The dash pad has no cracks at all,and all glass is good with no scratches.Over all the car will pass any state inspection, and could be driven reliabley every day as is. Or it could get a new top and a paint job and then be a real show stopper!!Any question fell free to call: 806-668-5962 in Conn. Ask For Ray
