Vehicle Detail
Very nice 1968 Camaro. I have owned this car for about seven years and have driven it maybe 300 miles over those seven years. It has been kept in heated storage 100% of the time and it is tme to let it go. Some details: Frame is solid - also has sub frame connectors 377 Cu engine - 400 block,350 crank - very fast - I have been told 500 HP from the seller but have never had it Dyno'd so I can't confirm but it will break loose the sticky BF drag radials (275R 17's) through third gear. Has SS badging but no way to tell if it was an actual SS but it does have front disc's which is unique to 68 SS's - not that it matters much as it is not numbers matching Body/paint has a couple of small issues but as you can tell from the pictures they are minor. There is a couple of dimples on both rear quarter panels but they are hard to see unless you are looking for them. Muncie 4 speed trans that I was going to go through but when I pulled the cover it was clear that it had been rebuilt recently so I left it alone. I rebuilt the entire front end - A arms off and powder coated, re-bushed all the suspension joints and sway bar connections and addded new springs and shocks as well as new tie rod ends. New Holley 750 CFM carb with mechanical secondaries- seems like a lot for a 377 but it was needed because of the high RPM potential - drive it and you will understand Has alumiuim Brodix spread port heads with Speed Pro billet rockers attached to mechanical lifters running trough Headman headers and then on to flowmaster 40series New billet flywheel with Powerforce clutch plate and a steel bellhousing with new clutch fork assembly Muncie tranny has had all linkages re-bushed for smooth shifts New MSD distrbutor and coil along with 8.5mm wires Many other improvements to long to list here Interior, although not original, is very clean and solid. Carpet, headliner and seats are all in very good condition. The heads have been gone through - machined flat along with valve seat cleanup, new valves, guides, seals ,springs and keepers If you would like to see more pictures or videos of the car running let meknow. I have no allusions as to this being a collectable but only a fun toy that, I always meant to take to the track, but never did. I have a couple of short videos if you are interested. One is a walk aroung the car while it is running and the other is a short full acceleration run. I did not put plates or road insurance on it this year and I live in a small quite subdivision so I was limited as to what I could do ( trying to keep the nieghbors happy) but it will give you a good idea of what the car is about. Over $5000 in reciepts for the parts I have purchased and installed. i
