Vehicle Detail
After 2 years of searching for the perfect Unibody to restore I finally found one that was rust free and now I have to sell it for a down payment on a house. I really realy don't want to sell this truck but I have to inorder to come up with enough cash for a down payment. AMAZING Barn Find. I picked up this truck from an old lady that had it stored in her back garage, she was a widow and this was her late husband's truck and he was the ORIGINAL owner. I looked at adozen other Unibody trucks and never saw one as clean, straight or rust free as this one. This truck has ABSOLUTELY ZERO CANCER. It has the stock 292Y block V8 and 3 on the tree manual transmission. It runs and drives but could use a rebuild. I purchased this truck on the spot. The truck has been on paid non operation since 2006, it is still on non op under my name which costs 15 dollars a year. There are no back fees with the DMV and it is pre smog as well. It has a salvage title due to theft in the late 80's. The old lady stated that her husband worked at the bowling alley and some kids stole it and took it for a joyride but the police found it a week later inside city limits. Since they had made a stolen vehicle report with the police and claimed it as stolen with the insurance company it was listed as salvaged. She said that her husband made a deal with the insurance company and instead of a cash payment he just wanted his truck back, they agreed and he took possesion and noted that the only damage was where they broke the drivers window to get into the truck. The insurance compa had the local ford dealer replace the window and replace the ignition. She stated that he drove it approximatley 4 miles round trip to work at the bowling alley and a few miles to take her to church on Sundays and that was it. She said that the odometer has never rolled over and I am inclined to believe her though I cannot prove it. Her husband died in 2005 and it had been parked since 2006. I was able to get it running by just pouring some gas into the float bowl and replacing the battery. I doubt this engine has ever been rebuilt as it all original and looks like it is 50 years old (it's a little oily) I trailered it to my house and have been working on it for a few months cleaning it up and getting ready to tear it apart for a restoration. My wife and I found our dream home and since it was bank owned it was for sale at a price that we could not refuse. Unfortunately to make the down payment I have had to sell a few things and sadly this truck is one of them. I would love to see this truck go to an enthusiast who reciate what great shape it is in for a 50 year old truck. It has a lot of potential and deserves a good restoration as the rust free body is the best I have come across. Please no tire kickers or day dreamers, I need to sell this truck soon and the price reflects that. I am not interested in trades and I also have it for sale on my Website so act fast if you are a serious buyer. Feel free to ask me any questions, and if you would like to see more pictures you can see them on my website. http://blue-oval-dismantlers.myshopify.com/products/1962-ford-f100-unibody I treated the light surface rust with professional brush on rust reformer and then painted everything with an Anti Rust primer. It starts and drives but will probably need a rebuild, I just replaced the rotor, cap, points, condensor, plug wires and plugs. I am also including two spage front grilles both are steel and one is chrome, They both include buckets and turnsignal mounts. (These normally go for 200-300 each) It will need to be towed since the tires are pretty shot. I can deliver it upon request in a 500 mile radius from San Bernardino after payment clears. I can also take credit card for payment or you can purchase the truck directly from my website, which is the only way to get free delivery. Of course you are more than welcome to come look at it in person and hear it run. Of course cash is always good! This truck is sold AS IS. I also have it listed locally and reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Good luck. Thank you for looking. Mason
