Vehicle Detail
Thanks for looking at my 1978 Westfalia camper. I found a diamond in the rough but my family doesn't get into the camping thing. My kids enjoyed it for back yard sleeping and playing for a few years but are now grown up and I don't want to let this camper just sit any longer. The story I got with this camper is that it was bought on the west coast and shipped out here to the east. With the shape of it I have to believe it. Rust is minimal on it, you can see the original pea green under the undercoating that is peeling off. The pictures show what rust it has and the side damage on sliding door side. The door was changed but the bottom of the b and c post will need to be pulled out. I do have some metal I cut from a donor bus that I was thinking about replacing the damage with but I think it would be better to unispot it and pull the original metal back to where it should be. The bed wool pads are in nice shape. The front seats could be reupholstered. I have never used the sink but it looks to be all there. I have plugged in the electric and the inside box works. Top opens but the canvas will need to be replaced or patched from mice chewing it. The gas is about two or three years old but it will run and yard drive, I think I would replace all the hoses on the engine before driving it on the road to be safe. German supply sells kits for the fuel injected motors of all the hoses needed for around a hundred. The tires are unknown of age and would also need close inspection by professional before road driven. Cd sound system cranks and sounds great. Kids hamock is there but I do not have any blinds for front or mosquito screens for back. Someone before me has a hatch cut into back for fuel sending unit. The handle on the pop top is broke and will need to be replaced. Look at the photos and ask any questions. I can also take any specific photo of your needs. Can be looked at in person at Peru NY 12972. I'm two miles off Interstsate 87, easy to get to. Thanks
