This is very well cared for 1978 BMW. I do all my own maintenance as most airheads owners do, because these bikes have specific requirements, and quite frankly I do not trust it with any body, that may or may not know what they are doing. Here is the list of what I have done. Purchased the bike with 23,000. At 30,000 Replaced Rear main seal Replaced Clutch, new plates and disks Lubed tranny splines. Completely rebuilt carbs, including diaphragms. At 36000 Changed all fluids Replaced brake pads, and replaced brake fluid Replaced Head gaskets Adjusted Valves. New Push Rod Seals Upgraded to electronic ignition Replaced coils Replaced Front Brake Pads. At 41,000 Replaced timing chain gasket and seals. Replaced timing chain tensioner and spring Replaced plugs and wires Replaced voltage regulator and diode board. Installed new brushes, I was already there and had it apart so why not. Installed new rear tire and tube. This is a 30 plus year old motorcycle, if something leaked, I fixed it. Let's face it, the seals are 30 years old, all the seals in the engine have been replaced, so it should be like new. The transmission does not leak. This is a solid running airhead. There are a few marks in the paint, but other that it is good runner. This bike is for sale, as is. No warranty is expressed on implied. This bike does come with saddlebags.
