Vehicle Detail
This 1983 Honda Magna aka "The Beast" has had 3 owners. The previous owner died 12 years ago. The bike sat in storage for the last 12 years until I bought it this last summer. It has 11923 miles on it. I have gone through the bike and it runs very well albeit too fast for a 65 year old guy. I did the following:had the local Honda shop clean and regasket the carburetorshad Honda resync the carbshad Honda rebuild the front and rear brake calipers as they were stickychanged all brake fluids to new synthetic fluidchanged the clutch fluid to synthetic fluidinstalled new NGK spark plugschanged rear drive fluid to synthetic hypoid fluidchanged engine oil to synthetic oilchanged engine oil and air filtersinstalled new Metzler 880 Marathon tires front and rear 100 miles agoreplaced all dry and missing grommetsreplaced fuel line between gas tanks with OEM Honda fuel linecleaned inside of fuel tank but did NOT seal the tank as it did not need itinstalled new fuel filter inspected forks NO Leaksrepaired broken tabs on side panels, one on each sideinstalled new AGM battery Shortcomings:The front fender has a dime size dent or dimple from storageWhen I found the bike in the storage unit it was lying on its left side resulting in a small dent in the left muffler and a scuff on the bottom of the left forkleft side cover has a 1/2 inch crack, hard to notice in picture Overall this bike is a 8 out of 10 cosmetically and a 9.5 out of 10 mechanically. Bike is almost 100% original and has original seat and Honda sissybar with tool bag. There are no major dents or damage. Only minor tank scratches hardly noticable. It runs extremely fast. Has a minor hesitation sometimes, if you really try for a 10 second 1/4 mile, between 4 and 5 thousand rpms due to sitting so long. The Honda mechanic said that would go away after 3 or 4 tanks of gas were run through it. I have not gone through 1 tank since the overhaul. Normal driving has no problems. Electrically there are NO problems. I have an extra front left fork if the scuff bothers you but the bike runs great as it is. I am picky and that is why I try to mention every small detail but the truth is this bike would run another 50,000 miles just as it sits now. The reason I am selling this wonderful machine is that at 65 years old I no longer have the reaction time to handle a bike this quick. It is not for the faint of heart. Remember only the 1983 had the full horsepower,121hp, while the 84,85 & 86 had 105hp due to smaller main jets and Klein carbs with smaller venturis'. Email with any questions. Buyer makes a $500 paypal deposit within 48 hours of the auction ending. Buyer must arrange for shipping. I can store the bike for up to 60 days after the auction. Final payment can be cash or cahiers check. Title is Colorado title. Bike has always been in Colorado. NADA book value on this bike is $3210. Original bikes this clean are getting tougher to find each year. If you guys look at Item Number 150910700011 that just sold with only 4000 less miles you will see that it brought $7100.
