Vehicle Detail

1987 BUICK GRAND NATIONAL with only 14,500 original Miles!! I have owned this Grand National for about 12 years. Always been garage kept (even the original owner kept it garaged). The pictures you see do not do this car justice, the pictures were taken with my cell phone. Must see in person, it's very clean. It has almost every option that was available back then in 1987. It has a solid roof and factory limited slip posi rear (factory options listed above). The car was originally from Minnesota, I bought the car from World Famous Dennis Kirban who picked it up from the last owner in Minnesota. That last owner made some very discreet upgrades to this car that made this car much, much faster than any other factory stock Grand National (or any other factory MuscleCar). He also installed the 145MPH speedo in place of the wimpy 85MPH speedo. In 1987 the Grand National was the fastest production car in the USA just as it was when it rolled off the assembly line..., thanks to the "discreet" upgrades described below, this Grand National still would beat any production car in the USA, even today's high horsepower monsters. Yet this car idles, runs and drives just as smoothly and comfortably as it did when it rolled off the assembly line; best of both worlds. Everything works including factory A/C, heat, power antenna, cruise control, etc. The paint is super smooth and factory original, the interior is super mint as if it was never sat in. One of the only things that I've done to this car many years ago was rims; I wanted to keep the factory fresh appearance but did not like how tiny (skinny) the factory wheels were. So what I did was bought a second set of original Grand National wheels and had them completely cut up, un-welded, etc, and then had them rebuilt to a much larger size of 17 inch X 9 inch rears and 17 inch X 8 inch fronts. They look AMAZING with new chrome!! And they fit perfectly with no rubbing. Anyone who has seen this car in person is shocked and confused, it looks like it could be stock/factory yet it fills the wheel wells much, much nicer than the 15 X 7's that came with it. It now has 275-40-17 rears and 245-45-17 fronts. To my knowlege it's the only Grand National with factory wheels stretched to 17 inch height, I've only seen GN wheels made wider, not taller and wider. It was very expensive to do many years ago and I've never seen another. I even had the plain black space saver spare wheel in the trunk redone from an original Grand National wheel! An actual GN wheel was shrunken so that it fits in the same storage hole as the space saver spare, it even has the space saver tire mounted on it, looks factory OEM. And I still have all 4 original mint condition 15 X7 factory wheels that came on this car with the original Goodyear Eagle GT tires stored in my garage, they were removed when the car had only 8,000 miles on it. The winner/buyer of this car has the choice of taking the car with either set of wheels, either the 15's or the 17's (not both sets). I will be selling one set of wheels separately after this auction. Everything on this car (including the wheels) and all the upgrades look as if GM did it at the factory. I brought this car to the Annual Buick Car Show at Raceway Park, in Englishtown, New Jersey twice years ago ( I believe 2002 and 2003 ) and both times it won 1st Place in the Factory Stock Grand National Class, and there were over 100 super clean Grand Nationals there. What was interesting about both wins was that it not only won the Car Show against Grand Nationals with less mileage on them, but it won the Factory Stock Class even with the modifications listed below, everyone including the judges felt that the upgrades looked factory installed (even the wheels!). All Discreet Modifications/Upgrades 17 INCH FACTORY GN WHEELS!!!! (original 15 inch factory wheels modified to 17x9 inch) · Garett T49 turbo · Postons blue injectors · Mild Comp Cam · Intake and Plenum polished/ deburred · Transmission bulletproofed · Swollen turbo uptube · Stretched factory appearing intercooler · 3 inch downtube, heat coated (no rust) · 2.5 inch exhaust pipes · Adjustable fuel pressure regulator · Powder coated key areas of engine compartment to maintain fresh factory look · Factory heads ports polished/ deburred Everything professionally done, if I didn't list them above, you would never know it. Potentially an 11 second quarter mile but I've never brought it to a track. OEM appearing, with cruise control, air conditioning, concert 2 factory stereo, power seat, power windows, power trunk, factory smooth idle. BEST OF ALL WORLDS: FACTORY FRESH LOOKING WHILE BLOWING THE DOORS OFF ANYTHING! If you are a Bidder and live in the New York area feel free to contact me before auction end if you would like to see the car in person before auction ends. Vehicle condition is excellent/mint, original factory paint is excellent but as one can imagine even just driving it on the nicest days over the years it did get some very tiny paint chips that are easily touched up. It has a small blemish on the lower part of driver side quarter panel that is hardly noticeable, it won't show up on pictures either because the paint is not effected at all The best way to describe the blemish is a small wave in the sheet metal. I owned the car for many years before I noticed it. The undercarriage is rust free, the tank is still silver. I have a set of brand new OEM chrome "3.8 SFI Turbo" lettering that is included with the car, it's not on the car because in my opinion the car looks cleaner without it, but it will be included when you get the car. Bid with confidence; I've been a member of ebay for approximately 13 years and have 100% positive feedbacks. I reserve the right to cancel bids from bidders with negative feedback(s) or brand new bidders with no feedback at all, in those cases you should contact me first before you bid. $2,000 deposit due within 48 hours of auction end, balance due within 7 days of auction end. Buyer is responsible for actual shipping costs if any. I reserve the right to end this auction early if it sells locally, BUT I will only do that if the auction reserve was not yet met, once the reserve is met then it will go to the highest ebay bidder no matter what. The reserve was set much lower than what the car is worth; NADA Car Values has these cars valued as high as $36,000. I set the reserve even lower than what I paid for the car many years ago; hoping it will go much higher but I will let it go once reserve is met. Good Luck to you, happy bidding. Any questions, just e-mail me thru ebay, I will try my best to answer any questions right away.
