Vehicle Detail
Selling a 1995 Jeep Cherokee Sport 2 Door SUV built up into one kick-ass off-road and rockcrawling machine. This rig has run the bad boy trails in Moab, all over southern Nevada, Big Bear, CA, and most recently completed the Rubicon Trail. I've never gotten this thing into a place it couldn't pull itself out of. If you're looking to go serious offroading and don't have a $10k or higher budget, this vehicle is for you. The Great:Chrysler 8.25" rear end with Detroit Locker - easy and simple, no switches or dials - just WORKSBroke an axle on the Rubicon. Trail repaired it but as soon as we got back I had it reworked, adjusted, and refilled professionally to be sure ring and pinion were OKCustom Kenneshaw Metals fabricated rear bumper with spare tire holder, gas can holder, and hi-lift holder and heavy D-rings and hitch receiver.Spare tire, gas can, and hi-lift go with the vehicleOB Tube Front Winch Bumper includes the winch (which probably needs to be replaced but may be repairable) and the all-important steering box reinforcement plate these XJs needBig D-rings in the front as wellRubicon Express 5.5" Long-Arm Lift Kit - the best lift kit out there for XJs - the wheel travel is unrealSway bar connect/disconnect links33" BF Goodrich Mud Terrains with 15" steel rims - bend a rim? No problem - hammer it back out, air up, and your off again. No alloys to crack or break.Custom Flowmaster Exhaust systemSkid platesAlpine head deck with Rockford Fosgate front and rear speakers - rocks! The Good:Stock 4.0 HO runs great - has been tuned up including a complete new distributor No smoking or burning oil - runs strong and makes no unusual noisesStock fuel injection has been cleaned and serviced - passes smog every year with no problemTwo-door design is hard to get, looks great, and is nice and rigidTrans and transfer case are stock - both have been serviced and work great - NP231 x-fer case has granny 4LStock front axle - checked and serviced - no problemsStock steering box - turns stop to stop with no noises or catches - power steering works greatFront end essentially stock - even after all the offroading I've done this thing tracks straight as heck down the road - even with the sway bar disconnectedNice clean stock interior - no rips or tears in seats. Couple cracks in dash but nothing seriousNo holes in floors - good and solid top to bottomAlmost new brakes up front - new brakes in rearRecently replaced radiator and AC condenser. Never overheats and blows nice cold air even on 120 degree days here in the desertAgain, no surprises, will pass NV smog as it just did a few months ago The Rest:Winch malfunctioned on the Rubicon. I was able to jump it out to make it work, but I'd suggest replacing it.Rocker panels have some typical denting and damage associated with serious rockcrawling. Nothing structural and both doors close and sealDrivers side has some body damage from a slow rollover on the Rubicon. Front fender could stand to be replaced if it bothers the buyer but isn't hurting anything as isReplaced broken rear window with extra-thick plexiglas so if it happens again (on that side) it'll pop out instead of breaking. Does not leak! BONUS FREE STUFF!:I have a brand new Smittybilt Land Anchor and Shackle setup, some recovery straps, a first aid kit, a tool kit, a CB (needs a new attenna), and some other trailside handies like a hammer, 4-way wrench etc, that I will leave with the car! This is full disclosure to the best of my knowledge. I know of no other mechanical or physical issues this machine has and I just had it checked for a second opinion and they agreed (the folks who reset the rear end and replaced the rear brakes). This vehicle is a blast to drive and can go over just about anything you can throw at it. It's stable in even the most off-camber maneuvers and has nearly 18" of wheel travel available at each corner. Stays planted and solid even when you want to get a little crazy. I rolled it because I was trying to take a line not recommended. It was operator error and no fault of the car. To its credit, we used the winch to get it back on its wheels, cleaned up the glass, and drove away none the worse for wear. Even I was impressed with how well it performed in the most extreme conditions. We went over obstacles in one pass we watched TJs and JKs fight with for hours! Check out my feedback and you'll see you can bid on this thing with confidence that it's exactly as I'm representing. The only reason I'm selling it is I've been transferred to Chicago and there doesn't appear to be much use for a rockcrawler there, so I'm going to leave it here in the desert with someone who will enjoy it for what it was built for. Please note this also is driving a need for me to complete this sale expeditiously, so read the fine print below before committing. Thanks in advance for bidding. Feel free to email any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. The Fine Print: I am selling this vehicle as is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied. It is sold FOB Ground Las Vegas, NV, 89149. Loading, Transport, Taxes, Fees, or any other expenses associated with this transaction are strictly the responsibility of the purchaser. Details on deposit and payment requirement are listed. There will be no exceptions. If payment is not made when it's supposed to be. I'm contacting the second bidder. If you don't produce the final payment as noted, you forfeit your deposit and I call the second bidder. The vehicle, keys, and title will not be transferred to the owner until the balance is paid in full. Period. So please, ONLY SERIOUS BIDDERS - I don't want any problems and neither do you. If any potential bidders would like to have an independent shop inspect the car, there's a great little shop down the street who will do it for a nominal fee and be honest. They've done a lot of the work to it over the years so they'll already know what they're looking at. I'll help you get it looked at elsewhere here in town as well if you prefer. However, that cost will be paid by the buyer PRIOR to bid close. Once bidding is closed, you own it. That said, save yourself the hassle and money - this thing is exactly as I'm representing it. I do have the vehicle listed locally and reserve the right to terminate this auction at any time at my discretion. Again, good luck and happy bidding
