This is an incredible 1981 Mercedes 380SL Convertible. This Mercedes 380SL is finished in beautiful Champagne Metallic Exterior over Dark Brown Leather Interior with Wood Trim Accents. THE HISTORY The Mercedes 380SL has only 70,510 miles on it !!! The VIN is WDBBA45A4BB007022. It was sold Brand New by Plaza Mercedes Benz in Missouri on June 30th of 1981 with just 16 miles on the odometer. This original owner kept this 380SL normally serviced at the Mercedes dealer. In April of 1991 and with just 23,000 miles on the odometer, this original owner sold this 380SL and it began it's life with it's second owner. This second owner lived in Miami Florida and kept it normally serviced at the Mercedes Benz dealer. In late August of 2012 and with just 70,485 miles on the odometer, I was offered the oppurtunity to purchase this 380SL from the second owner, which I did, and I am proud to now offer this 380SL for sale here on eBay. THE CONDITION The overall exterior condition of the vehicle is very good. I am not going to say museum quality, but I will say that this one is probably as close as you can get without having found one that is completely restored. The vehicle looks absolutely great for its age and mileage although some very minor surface scuffs/scratches are evident here and there. The vehicle has previously been treated to a complete repaint to repair the normal and expected clear coat fading. The job was done very well and the paint is deep and glossy. The hardtop was painted to match the interior which was a very popular thing to do. The body appears to have never had any accident damage or body damage. The body is very straight and the panels all line up very well. The softop is the original top from 1981 and due to being kept stored in the closed position for many years it will need to be replaced. The interior shows very little wear. The leather looks very clean and is free of any tears or fade. The driver and passenger seating has been completely redone and looks great. The carpeting is plush. The dash and door panels are in great shape. The wood trim is stunning and does not have the typical delamination or cracking. The dashboard has zero cracking which is a very common issue for this body SL. Some of the rims have some minor curb rash but are in overall great condition. The tires on this Mercedes are Sumitomo HTR T4 P205/70R14 93T's with approx 65% of tread life left; however, they have some age cracking. The spare tire appears to be the original spare and appears to have never been out of the trunk. I have three master keys, the owner’s manuals with original window sticker, the toolkit, the softtop tools, the owner's manual for the radio, the paperwork for the window tinting, and the carpet floormats.
