Vehicle Detail
INTRODUCTION AND DESCRIPTION You are viewing my 1977 Ford LTD Police Interceptor. This is a former Alabama police vehicle, believed to be State Police (Alabama was one of the states using the LTD), but it could have been some other Alabama agency. I bought this vehicle several years ago to restore, but after doing over 40 of these vintage police vehicles over the past decade, I am going to let someone else do whatever they wish with this one Let me decode a few relevant portions of the VIN and Door Tag: 7=1977 Model Year, B=Oakville Ontairo assembly plant, 63=Four Door Pillared Sedanl, C= 460-4V Police Interceptor Engine, 6=3.00:1 standard 9-inch heavy duty rear differential, U=heavy duty C6 Automatic Transmission, and DB=Blue Cloth and Vinyl interior, Other options ordered on this Interceptor include air conditioning, cornering lamps, and of course the police package (heavy duty suspension and brakes, front and rear stabilizer bars, high capacity fluid cooling, dual exhasut, 140 mph "certified" speedometer, etc.). It does not have the rear disc brake option. A deluxe Marti (registered trademarK) confirms the above data and further notes that it is one of 3.552 LTD's equipped with this powertrain, and it was delivered to Sunny King Ford of Anniston Alabama in June 1977This obviously is a project car. Fortunately Ford manufactured a lot of compatible vehicles as civilian cars, so finding non-police body and mechanical parts is fairly straightforward. The police package content is very hard to find in any condition given how few were made. The vehicle does run and drive (it can be driven onto/off of a trailer under its own power) but it has not been determined to be roadworthy at all, It has been repainted at least twice but the original color appears to have been White. This Interceptor still has virtually all of its original police package mechanical equipment, including of course its original powertrain (but there is a Holley 750 dual feed, double pumper on it right now). The original "Motrac II" base unit (condition unknown) with rare locking key is still mounted in the trunk. The body panels are in fairly good, rust-free shape but the fenders are so dinged up the best thing to do would be to replace them. The frame and floor pans are in great rust-free, original condition. The interior needs quite a bit of work.I hope someone winds up with this Interceptor who has the time, the parts, and the patience to bring it back. Alternatively, someone might want to use it for other reasons, like a donor for another police car, or to really "wake up" some other compatible, full-sized Ford using the heavy-duty cop stuff as desired. Either way, it will get to live on in some useful way.AUCTION SUCCESS CONSIDERATIONS I have established a reasonable reserve (which will not be revealed while the auction is running) for this 1977 Ford LTD Police Interceptor. Please consider bidding during the auction to the extent and level you deem appropriate and based on whatever factors are important to you. The reserve is set recognizing the extent of the required restoration and also what this vehicle is worth in desirable police parts. Please note that I reserve the right to end this auction early at my sole discretion. If reserve is not met, I may provide Second Chance Offers (SCO) through the Ebay system, but note that this is only possible with people who actually bid during the auction. I may also write the high bidder(s) to discuss the price, again if the reserve is not met. If you get a SCO (which is a Buy-It-Now auction that only the seller and the bidder to whom it was sent can access), it will come through the Ebay system and be for a 24-hour duration. Of course please feel free to write me for confirmation and I will provide a phone number at which I can be reached. I am sorry in advance for the following auction process requirements, realizing they do not apply to the vast majority of responsible Ebay members. Encountering non-paying or unresponsive bidders is about the worst thing that can happen in a vehicle auction, given the significant preparation time and cost to market a vehicle this way. So, please BE SURE BEFORE YOU BID that you have done whatever you need to do to STAND BEHIND the actual bid(s) YOU MADE and were recorded during the auction. Bidders with less than 5 (five) feedbacks may at my discretion have their bids canceled and then blocked from further bidding for the duration of the auction unless they contact me in advance of bidding. Bidders who are "fishing for the reserve" by making and then canceling bids they NEVER intended to honor WILL BE reported to the Ebay Trust and Compliance Department. Bidders outside North America (anywhere other than the US, Canada, or Mexico “mainland”) are welcome to bid, but also must email me before bidding to discuss payment and shipping procedures. INSPECTION AND WARRANTY INFORMATION Please ask any questions that you may have that may not have been answered by this listing narrative and visual media attachments. Respectfully, I do not know what is important to you that may not have been discussed herein unless you ask me. Any and all relevant and appropriate questions you submit while the auction is running will be answered promptly and as thoroughly as possible by email only to ensure clarity of any correspondences. Your bid forms the basis for a binding, legally enforceable contract. As such, if you require it, please make all pre-purchase inspections (at the sole expense of the bidder) before committing to purchase the vehicle. Inspections can be done by appointment only by you or your designated inspection service. Although I believe I have described and depicted (with numerous high-resolution photographs) this vehicle accurately, please note that this vehicle is sold "as-is, where-is” with no express or implied warranties or guarantees of any kind. PAYMENT AND STORAGE A $500 deposit is required from the winning bidder, due electronically via PayPal within 24 hours after the auction ends, to hold the vehicle. I will not be accepting trades. Full payment is due within 3 days of auction end via cash, wire transfer, or certified bank check (drawn on a major US bank). Clear title in my name is in hand and vehicle can be scheduled for buyer pickup by appointment at anytime after full payment is received and cleared. As long as it is paid for in full, I can hold the vehicle in outdoor storage for 30 days (or longer, if weather or other uncontrollable factors emerge) at no charge to the winning bidder after the auction (the charge is $10.00 per day after 30 days). Thank you for viewing my auction.
