Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a Ford P400 Vanette. Not sure of the year. I bought it as a 1949 but have realized that it is newer than that. I think they made these vans between 1958-1965 but the dmv is trying to tell me it is a 72 model. Anyway there is no part of this van that was not taken apart, rebuilt, or replaced. This thing has a ton of work involved and a lot of good parts. We just took this thing to Sturgis and it is battle tested and ready to go. The engine is a very stout 283 small block chevy. The engine had ten minutes of run time on it when we left. The oil looks brand new even after the trip(about 1500 miles). The engine has been bored .030 over and has been balanced. New pistons, steel crank, all new valves and components, new oil pan, roller rockers, balancer, ect. It runs and sounds like an old muscle car. It has a set of dz302 heads on it 1.94 valves. The engine was built for a chevelle. The cam is a 270/470 comp and sounds nice. I could go on and on about the engine because it is superb. I spent over $2200 on parts and machine work. I used the 283 because it was the best engine I had at the time and had sat in my shop long enough. The transmission is an NV4500 5 spd overdrive out of a 1996 chevy dually with diesel engine. Cast iron version. Trans worked flawlessly on the trip and has brand new GM synthetic oil in it($30 per quart). I had to make the shifter to fit the van application. It has the top six inches of the original stik. The rearend is a Dana 60 and has new bearings, seals, oil. It is a 4:56 gear. The brake drums have been turned with new pads, wheel cylinders, and hoses. Brakes work well even with a trailer. New master cylinders on brakes and clutch. Hydraulic clutch with new disc, pressure plate and hydraulic throwout bearing. Willwood master cylinder for clutch with braided line and AN fittings. Fabricated new mtr mounts with a cross members under the bell housing(cast iron) and transmission. Dual exhaust with new mufflers Two brand new tires, rest are in good shape.New tubes and flaps. Original split rims-They are very specific to this vehicle but are 16 inch. One wire alternator, new water pump, hoses, ignition, All the lights/blinkers work, with trailer harness and class III hitch I installed some velour extra wide seats out of a 94 chevy truck. They are comfortable. This van originally had a single seat that resembled a bleacher chair. There is currently four wooden bunks in the back for sleeping. Done by a carpenter and pretty decent after a night of drinking. The cargo area is approx 6ft high and 10ft long. Gas tank was cleaned and a plug was installed for future use. It will run 65 down the highway with the od. Any questions just ask. THIS VAN WILL START RIGHT UP AND CAN BE DRIVEN ACROSS THE COUNTRY!!!
