I am proud to offer this original, unmolested 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 2 door Hardtop! This is a 2-owner vehicle from new. The first owner was Mr. Paul Travis of Boise, Idaho who bought it new at Roy C. Davidson Co. Ford in Boise on 2/11/1963. He sold the Galaxie to Mr. and Mrs. Seiz of Boise, Idaho on 4/29/2009. Mr. Seiz was a passionate caretaker of this Ford and he asked me to retain its originality as much as possible, which is what I have done. During Mr. Seiz ownership, the tires and rims were replaced; the exhaust was replaced with dual Flowmasters (what a fine sound they make!), a chrome K & N air filter and an aftermarket CD player was installed under the dash. These tasteful upgrades were done while preserving the originality of the vehicle. The original radio is still present but not hooked up. The original air cleaner will be included (see photos).
I brought the car to my mechanic of 20 years, Mr. Steve White, a 64 year old, cranky, expert in all things automotive. He replaced all 4 shocks, water pump, thermostat, all belts and hoses and did a full inspection. This car runs as it should and is a joy to drive.
We have given the car a complete detail, sewn the sagging headliner, and repaired the driver window regulator and crank. The original “Chestnut” paint still shines and the patina is amazing! You can see the history in it! We have touched it up but not repainted it. It is only original once. The only surface rust on the car is some tiny bubbling at the lower left front quarter behind the wheel (see photo), other than that this southern Idaho dessert Ford is RUST FREE. The interior is completely original. The front seat upholstery has split in many places but the seats still sit very nicely. The rear seat is in good condition except for some sun rotting at the top and very back. The door panels are in good condition. The driver armrest has split. The dash has some cracks and the headliner is useable but showing its age. We have sewn it up a bit here and there. The odometer shows 24318 miles. It has "rolled over" and the actual miles are 124318. This vehicle will be sold "miles exempt" as it is over 10 years of age.
This vehicle can be restored to complete originality if you choose or just keep driving it in its original “Patina’ed” condition. It will draw crowds wherever you go!
Do not hesitate to fly in and drive this Galaxie home! Everything works, as it should. The 352 cubic inch, 336 horsepower V8 will cruise happily at highway speeds. All the electrics, heater, wipers and brakes work very well. The “Cruise-O-Matic” transmission shifts smoothly. Just be prepared every time you stop, to answer questions from people admiring this un-molested time capsule!
