AWESOME LITTLE 4 CYLINDER 1997 TOYOTA TACOMA EXTENDED CAB TRUCK FOR SALE ON THIS AUCTION AT NO RESERVE I AM THE 2nd OWNER OF THIS TRUCK BOUGHT IT FROM MY FRIEND O.C. WHO PURCHASED IT NEW I HAVE OWNED THIS TRUCK SINCE 2006 UPON PURCHASE YOU CAN DRIVE THIS TRUCK FROM HERE TO ANYWHERE YOU WISH IT RUNS OUT FINE EXCEPT FOR THE STARTING HOT PROBLEM IT ALWAYS STARTS WHEN COLD AND WILL RUN AS LONG AS YOU LET IT (EITHER DRIVING OR SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY FOR HOURS STRAIGHT) WHEN ITS HOT IT WILL NOT START LET IT SIT FOR 10 MINUTES AND IT'S GOOD TO GO MYSELF AND TWO MECHANIC SHOPS COULD NOT QUITE FIGURE IT OUT SO I TOOK IT TO "THE BIG BOYS" AS THEY REFERRED TO THEMSELVES WHICH IS THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP AFTER ONE AND-A-HALF WEEKS OF TROUBLESHOOTING THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP "COULD NOT DUPLICATE" PROBLEM IT ALWAYS CRANKED FOR THEM MY WIFE CAN MAKE IT NOT CRANK IN ONE-A-HALF MINUTES ! SOMETIMES WHEN IDLING IN DRIVEWAY IT WILL SURGE OR RPM UP LIKE SOMEONE HAS THEIR FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR WE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH TRUCK FROM 2006 UNTIL MY WIFE TOOK IT TO SNAPPY LUBE TO GET THE OIL CHANGED (I WAS BUSY AND SHE WAS DOING ME A FAVOR,VERY NICE THOUGHT FROM MY HONEY) WELL, AFTER DRIVING TO SMITHFIELD (30 MINUTES) AND RETURNING FROM IS WHEN WE REALIZED THEY DIDN'T PUT THE RADIATOR CAP BACK ON. HUGE EXPLOSION BUT NO DAMAGED TO ANY GASKETS. WE STARTED HAVING LITTLE "BUGS" AFTER THAT. TOOK IT TO ARTS RADIATOR AND REPLACED THE RADIATOR WITH A NEW ONE. SOME MONTHS LATER IS WHEN THE STARTING WHEN HOT OCCURRED. MAYBE IT'S RELATED, MAYBE IT'S NOT I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK AS A BACK UP SPARE IN 2006 FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER THE FUEL PUMP WENT BAD (WHICH COULD BE THE PROBLEM NOW) I BOUGHT A USED FACTORY ONE FROM THE SALVAGE YARD NEW ONE LISTS FOR 336.00 AT THE DEALER NOW I AM RURAL MAIL CARRIER AND ALWAYS NEED A BACK UP I HAVE USED THIS TRUCK PROBABLY ABOUT 20 TIMES (DAYS) ON MY ROUTE I NOW HAVE A S-10 CREW CAB FOR DAILY USE AND A 2000 OLDSMOBILE SILHOUETTE AS A BACK UP MY WIFE LOVED THIS TRUCK SO MUCH, SHE KINDA STOLE IT FROM ME ! SO INSTEAD OF DRIVING HER TOWN CAR TO WORK EVERYDAY SHE DRIVES THIS TRUCK THAT'S WHY I HAD TO BUY NEW TIRES AND SWEET ALUMINUM ALLOY RIMS THE TIRES AND RIMS WERE PURCHASED FROM COLONY TIRE MARCH 26, 2010 215 /70 R15 TIRES ON PACER RIMS OH YEAH, SHE MADE ME TAKE IT TO MY BUDDIES PAINT SHOP TOO THE DARK GREEN IS NOT THE EXACT FACTORY COLOR BUT SOMETHING MY FRIEND WITH OVER 30 YEARS BODY EXPERIENCE MIXED UP THE TRUCK HAS NOT BEEN WRECKED AND PATCHED, JUST PAINTED YOU HAVE MY WORD ON THAT JUST ASKED MY WIFE LONG IT'S BEEN PAINTED, SHE SAID SHE THINKS 3 YEARS I HAVE REPLACED OR REPAIRED SOME THINGS RECENTLY TO TRY TO SOLVE THIS NOT STARTING HOT PROBLEM AND WE KEEP PRETTY GOOD RECORDS AND RECEIPTS WHICH WILL BE GIVEN TO THE BUYER. NEW PARTS: NEW SPARK PLUG WIRES, SPARK PLUGS, ROTOR BUTTON, FACTORY FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR, EFI REALLY, BRAKES, FUEL FILTER, UPSTREAM 02 SENSOR, TOP WINDSHIELD TINT USED PARTS INCLUDE MAS AIRFLOW SENSOR, IGNITOR MODULE, PLUS SOME OTHER STUFF. STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM THE PADDED DASH IS NOT TORN OR CRACKED THE DRIVERS SEAT DOES HAVE A TEAR ON THE CORNER (pictured) THE PASSENGER SEAT HAS A STAIN YOU ARE WELCOME TO BRING ANY MECHANIC OR AUTOMOBILE EXPERT WITH ANY DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE YOU WISH TO TEST THIS TRUCK IT IS STILL ON MY INSURANCE AND I WILL DRIVE YOU UP AND DOWN THE ROAD, BYPASS OR INTERSTATE TO SHOW YOU HOW IT RUNS PERFECTLY FINE. I WOULD DRIVE THIS TRUCK ANYWHERE, WITH THE UNDERSTANDING IF I CUT IT OFF I WILL HAVE TO WAIT 10 MINUTES TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN I BOUGHT MY WIFE A BRAND NEW 2012 CAR 8-14-2012 AND WE HAVE A TOWN CAR, OLDS VAN, S-10 PICKUP, F-450 TRUCK, IROC-Z, A HARLEY AND NOW A NEW CRV SO THAT'S REALLY THE ONLY REASON TO SELL THIS TRUCK. WENT TO WILSON TWICE AND SOME RUNNING AROUND IN TOWN THE TRUCK STUTTERED OR KINDA CHOKED IN THE BEGINNING LIKE THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS STOPPED UP SO I TOOK IT THE BEST MOST ESTABLISHED MUFFLER SHOP IN TOWN, THE OWNER CAME OUT, LISTENED, SMELLED THE EXHAUST, CRANKED IT A FEW TIMES AND ASSURED ME THE TRUCK'S CONVERTER IS FINE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SO I WENT TO AUTOZONE TO PULL THE CODE THEIR CODE NUMBER WAS PO171 WHICH IS BANK 1 AIR/FUEL MIXTURE DROVE OVER TO MY MECHANIC AND SURE ENOUGH THERE WAS A VACUUM HOSE OFF (FROM THAT LITTLE ROUND THING UP BY THE FIREWALL, SEE THE ENGINE PI IT HAS A BLUEISH TOP) GOT THE ENGINE LIGHT OFF AND CODE CLEARED THEN IT DIDN'T WANT TO START ! ROBERT WIGGLED THE KEY A FEW TIMES AND SAID THE IGNITION SWITCH IS BAD OR WORE OUT I TOLD HIM THAT WAS JUST A COINCIDENCE AND THEN WE CRANKED IT SEVERAL MORE TIMES AFTER TAKING BREAK, I WAS GOING TO RETURN HOME AND I HOLD A LITTLE TROUBLE STARTING THE TRUCK THE MECHANIC SAID IT SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS GETTING TO MACH GAS DROVE HOME FINE , CRANKED THE TRUCK 3 MORE TIMES FINE I THINK IT IS A FUEL/AIR THING , BUT EXACTLY WHAT I DO NOT KNOW THIS LITTLE BUG HAS ALL BEEN SINCE THE RADIATOR RAN HOT AND ALL WITHIN THE LAST 2K MILES I'M GOING TO DRIVE IT ALL WEEK WHEN I GET HOME FROM WORK (HAVE TO USE MY WORK TRUCK FOR WORK)
