Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE NOT RUNNING/AS-IS NO RESERVE! Vehicle has been converted to the dual link timing chain. The parts to do this conversion are almost $1,000.00. (NOTE: the 1981-83 had the single link timing chain which was known for its catastrophic failures) But this car apparently jumped time when the upper guide on the driver's side failed. As a result of the jumped time, it is believed that the valves on the driver's side are bent. (I pulled the valve covers and can see that a couple of the cam followers on the driver's side have been forced off by the piston contacting the valve against its travel.) The engine cranks but does not turn over. The body, bumpers, transmission, glass and undercarriage are solid, but the interior is weathered and seats torn. There is no hard top with the car and although the soft top is good, the plastic windows are discolored. Seats will need to be re-covered. Vehicle was originally purchased, (as it currently is), as a restoration project for my youngest son and I, but a beautiful 1984 Mercedes 380SL fell into our laps just recently, which my son is now driving. I just want this car out of my driveway. This is a good restoration candidate or excellent parts car. Just the aluminum hood for this car is selling on ebay for $400 to $1000. No, you will not be able to simply replace the broken timing chain guide and drive it to the East Coast. (YIKES!) 2. Yes, I do have the original owners manual. 3. No, I don't have the faceplate for the stereo. 4. Yes, I do have one original key, but the ignition will have to be replaced and there is a new one with the car. 5. No, I am not interested in any trades. 6. No, I won't end the auction early and sell the car off Ebay for $1,500. I paid more than that for the car and will accept whatever it sells for on Ebay, high or low. 7. According to the previous owner it was a daily driver, (transportation vehicle), until the timing chain guide failed. 8. No, I could not find any rust anywhere on the car.
