1979 Fj40 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. Hello cruiser fans! Up for sale is a full restoration of a 1979 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40. This is a rare model given the year. 1979 through 1983 are the coveted model years to own. In 1979 a few things were changed but the biggest difference was that Toyota changed the gear ratios from 4:10 to 3:70 to allow a more freeway friendly ride. Of course this model year also has ambulance doors, 4-speed transmission, e-brake on the floor instead of a pull e-brake, gas tank under the vehicle instead of in the cab, and disc brakes up front. As you can see this vehicle is in amazing condition. I personally restored over 40 FJ40 Land Cruisers. I can honestly say this restoration turned out beautiful. I drive this cruiser every day and people ask about the vehicle every day. Here's a little bit of the work performed: Replaced all quarter panel steel and ran it up under the front doors.Replaced the rear channel under the ambulance doors - always a common rust out on these models.New weather stripping on all doors and hard top.Front and rear original rubber mats were used.Replaced the wheel wells.Put new fiberglass fenders on the front.Disassembled the entire vehicle body, sent it off to sand blasting, and had it professionally painted in pieces.Replaced all emblems with SOR brand new emblems.New dash cap.New SOR headliner.New front shackles and SOR bushings.New shocks.New muffler & exhaust system.New front Hell For Stout steering stabilizer.New transmission and transfer case boots.New rear jump seat covers from SOR.Professionally upholstered front seats.Complete professional tune-up including a carburetor overhaul.All new stainless hardware used in putting the body back together. Paint: A little more about the paint: Professionally painted in Salt Lake City. Toyota Sky Blue code # 854 was used to match the original factory color. The vehicle was completely disassembled and sent to the sand blaster. Then the vehicle was painted in pieces - inside and out. All windows and hardware were removed for paint. It runs excellent and drives tight. It doesn't pull to one side or the other. It has great engine power and braking power. The clutch is in perfect condition. The electric system works - every gauge works properly. Tires are brand new. Essentially this vehicle is ready to buy, inspect, register and drive!
