This listing is for a VERY RARE 1966 Dodge D100 "Custom Sport Special" long bed pick up. This truck has the original black California plates still on it! Better known as a "CSS" D100, Dodge built very few of these trucks. They were a special order truck that came with full carpeting, bucket seats, a center console and up graded trim. This truck has all the original body parts and drive train. It is a very complete truck. All the glass is good and it has next to NO RUST. The only rust is in the corners of the doors. It has the original Polly Head 318 V8 with the original three speed manual column shift transmission. We bought the truck from a lady who said she and her husband bought the truck new here in California. She told me they drove the truck until 1981 when it started making a ticking noise and here husband took it apart to repair the valves. She said the miles are correct but she didn't remember if the odometer had rolled over, of if it only has 70,477 which is what shows on the odometer. The ladies husband passed away before he finished the repairs so the truck has sat since 1981. We bought the truck two years ago with the intention of restoring it. The engine was partially disassembled for years so it needs a complete rebuild. The truck should be gone through from front to back after setting so long, to be sure it is roadworthy after the engine is done. Because the truck is so rare and it is in such good condition we planned on doing a complete restoration. We have not started working on this truck, it is just as we bought it. My father has developed a very serious medical issues and so now we need to sell this truck to pay expenses. We have already sold most of my projects and I was hopping to not have to sell this one before we had a chance to do some work on it. However the time has come this truck has to go! This is a very rare truck and will make someone a very nice truck! We are selling this truck as-is with NO RESERVE! The high bidder gets it. The truck will come with a bill of sale. It is long since out of the DMV system and since it does not require a smog inspection, the bill of sale and vin verification will be all that's needed for registration.
