Vehicle Detail

I am selling my beautiful 1972 FJ40 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER. I purchased this cruiser from the original owner who kept it garaged since 1972 and only put 77k miles on it. I have a copy of the Nevada Title that shows the cruiser being passed from father to son, kept in the same family since brand new and always garaged. There is ZERO rust on this Land Cruiser. It is stunning beautiful and extremely well taken care of. Even the rubber on the rear windows is all original and in near perfect condition. I took a picture that is attached of the ash tray. I know that sounds crazy but I could not believe how perfect the condition was and as well, the condition of many other aspects of the cruiser. There was so many things that were in such impeccable condition for a 40 year old FJ40 ( they are usually beat up after this many years ) that I did not have much to do when I brought it back to pretty much original condition. The previous owner started a simple rolling restore, very basic, about 3 years ago. When I purchased it recently I decided to redo everything he had done and as a result spent thousands to get it in its present condition. I decided to Raptor Line the under carriage for instance but decided to leave the two front fenders original condition just to show the winning bidder how incredible the condition is. It looks new under there. Just amazing to me. I have had over 20 Toyota Land Cruisers since 1974 and have to say this cruiser is the closest to my original new one in 1974. The Black Raptor lining undercarriage will keep any rust from ever forming over the years and is a wonderful good looking product. I tried to keep to the previous owners unique vision of a white Raptor lined interior, ez to scrub down, ez to clean, tough and durable and real nice looking. For added protection we recently added brand new off road and durable interior padding on top of the white raptor and then topped that with a tough vinyl / rubber type Land Cruiser flooring. This REALLY keeps the noise level down and as well, keeps the interior much cooler. All of the windows are original and are in perfect condition. New rubber around the two front doors from SPECTER OFF ROAD so you have an air tight, water tight seal. The window regulators are all original and work like new. Same thing with the door locks. Keys go in and out easily, all doors lock and unlock easily. Even the back latch door has the original door handle on it which is just amazing. Those who know about these FJ40 LAND CRUISERS will know that those handles are one of the weak points on the older FJ40 cruisers and after years of pulling and banging them around they break and replacing them is very expensive. No need to in this case as the handle looks new and is in wonderful shape as is the entire back hatch door assembly. All the seats in the cruiser have been re-stuffed and restored completely, even more comfortable then the originals. The color as you see in the pics is kind of a desert brown color. The backs of each seat have been restored also to the cruiser stock gray just two days ago. All the seat frames are in wonderful newer looking condition. The area in front is also crisp and new looking, glove box, ash tray, gauge column, shifters both tranny and transfer, dash buttons. Wind shield wiper motor is functioning properly and looks barely used, lights, heater ( in fact there are two heaters as the previous owner took out the original tank under the passenger seat, placed the rear heater under the passenger seat and went with a more updated rear tank professionally installed and it looks flawless ) all function properly, blinkers, interior lights, gauges, headlights, brights, dims, brake lights, brakes, clutch, differentials, front end and rear end are all in newer condition since this cruiser only has 77k MILES ON IT!!! Just to let you know, the previous owners father passed the cruiser down to his son. I have a copy of the Title that was passed to the son. It shows the mileage at that time back in the 90's and I will be passing that document along to the winning bidder. The son made it clear that his father changed out the original odom after just 20k miles as it broke ( not surprising since they were not that reliable back then ). So,,,,,,,,the documentation shows the title transfer and then 56k miles on the odom currently. He said to add 20k miles to that number. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with his integrity, honesty and incredible knowledge of the history of his dads cruiser. He did NOT have to tell me that information. The Engine area looks quite new as well. I did not have to do anything to that area. The engine purrs, starts right up, runs like new and has been closely checked out by two competent cruiser mechanics. A regular maintenance schedule was followed by both father and son as well as me recently changing out EVERY fluid in the land cruiser with fresh replacements. I have receipts for ALL the work that I did on the restore process including a recent ( this week ) valve adjustment. The F engine, original to this year Land Cruiser always had regular valve adjustments according to Japanese LC specs over the years. A new valve cover gasket set was just ordered recently from Spector Off Road. I can't say enough about the engine and engine components. I am very pleased at it's power and smooth operation. As mentioned, I have owned many cruisers since 1974 so I kind of know what I am hearing when I drive them and with the assist of these other two mechanics I am quite satisfied to note that the cruiser will be trouble free many many more miles. The engine does not smoke, burn oil or leak. Tranny and Transfer also in wonderful functioning condition, both operating very smoothly. Emergency brake works perfect and as you know if your around the old cruisers, the emergency brake always goes out eventually. Not in this case. The top of the cruiser is in restored condition and looks wonderful. The interior headliner was put in by the previous owner and looks good as well. Just as a bonus I have ordered a brand new OEM Headliner from Specter Off Road and will include it, in the box to the winning bidder to put in whenever he or she see's fit. There is NO reason, in my mind, to change anything on this cruiser at this point. I just want to emphasize a few things. 1) IT IS EXTREMELY RARE TO FIND A LAND CRUISER IN THIS CONDITION, THE GUTS OF THIS LAND CRUISER IN THIS CONDITION, A GARAGED LAND CRUISER THAT SHOWS SO MUCH INTRICATE PRIDE OF OWNERSHIP. 2) THOUGH THE PREVIOUS OWNER, THE SON, DECIDED TO BEGIN A ROLLING RESTORE A FEW YEARS BACK, MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE BEEN WARRANTED since I see the cruiser in such good foundational condition. I have spent thousands to put it in the condition I know he was trying to achieve. So, what we have here is a wonderful foundation, extremely rare Land Cruiser foundation, a cruiser that really did not need much to get it in wonderful looking condition. The color of choice is called SKY BLUE / LAND CRUISER CODE 854 ( you can google COOL CRUISERS COLOR CHART and actually see a SKY BLUE cruiser pictured on their website ) but done with a later model cruiser base coat / clear coat for added protection and ruggedness. With the under carriage done in a brand new protective Raptor Black, combined with the new base coat clear coat and restored roof top and then a solid interior done in brand new Raptor white ( including the inside of the glove box ) I think you have a very well protected FJ40 that did not sway much from it's original form. In my opinion, PROTECTION is the key here. RUST PROTECTION. The guts of this cruiser are 100% solid, even newer condition since it was garaged and not driven too much in 40 years so I think it really has the best of both worlds. The cruiser is extremely rare because of that family taking such good care of it. I bought it recently because I really could not help myself. It was just too nice to pass up. Not cheap but too nice to pass up. Now that I have put it into the condition that I know the original owner was trying to achieve, and the fact that I already own enough Land Cruisers, I have decided to part with it and pass it on to someone who will truly step back in time when they see how nice this thing runs. I THINK THE PICTURES JUST ABOUT SAY IT ALL ( even after my long winded description ) I have taken about 85 pictures of the cruiser, tried my best to describe accurately what your looking at here. As mentioned, I have receipts that will be passed along to the winning bidder, the cruiser needs NOTHING and is ready for your dream trip to ALASKA if you wish. I have just put on brand new BFG AT's 31 x 10.50 x 15. Just restored the stock steel wheels completely ( they did not even need it ) and put on brand new caps from Specter Off Road. All of this just over the past two days. There are approx 15 miles on this cruiser since I finished up what your reading here. Maybe 15 miles!!! So,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,you need nothing. Just buy it and drive it. Good luck and let me know if you want to see the remaining pictures. Any questions? Let me know and I will post them so that everyone can review the question. Just to note, I am trying to price this cruiser fairly, based on the time, energy, money and rarity of the cruiser. It is not cheap!!! But the reserve is quite fair in my opinion. I will NOT be sending along a " BUY NOW " price to anyone. I just want to see how the Ebay bidding goes on this one. Rare Birds are hard to find so good luck to you. Hope you win it. It's a great cruiser. Best, GLOBALVU3NN3.//////////////// MORE PICS? On Aug-10-12 at 23:09:07 PDT, seller added the following information: HELLO TO ALL BIDDERS. I AM POSTING THE "COMPRESSION NUMBERS" ON THIS 1972 STOCK LAND CRUISER F ENGINE FOR YOUR REVIEW. I WANT TO PREFACE THIS BY POINTING OUT THAT A BRAND NEW FJ40 FROM 1972 WOULD HAVE COMPRESSION NUMBERS, OFF THE FACTORY LINE OF 160 PSI IN EACH CYLINDER. AS MENTIONED IN MY EARLIER DESCRIPTION OF THE ENGINE I POINTED OUT THAT IT RUNS LIKE NEW AND HAS ONLY 77K MILES ON IT. I PURCHASED THE CRUISER FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER SO I KNOW THOSE MILES ARE ACCURATE. THE COMPRESSION NUMBERS ON THIS CRUISER, AT 77K MILES ARE A VERY IMPRESSIVE: CYLINDER # 1 = 155 PSI / #2 = 155 PSI / #3 = 155 PSI / #4 = 150 PSI / #5 = 145 PSI / #6= 155 PSI. Please also note that these compression numbers were done by a qualified Toyota Factory Trained mechanic. That contact number would be available to any serious bidder and as well I am more then happy to send along a copy of the results receipt to anyone who wishes to examine them. Thanks. Globalvu3nn3. On Aug-11-12 at 14:56:08 PDT, seller added the following information: HELLO AGAIN ALL BIDDERS. YES, THE ENGINE NUMBERS DO MATCH THE YEAR AND PRODUCTION DATE OF THE CRUISER. PLEASE GO TO ''SPECTER OFF ROAD'' ONLINE AND PUNCH IN VIN and ENGINE NUMBER and you will see their chart that documents the below numbers. Thanks, Globalvu3nn3. ENGINE NUMBER FOR MY 1972 FJ40 IS: F374268 VIN NUMBER FOR MY 1972 FJ40 IS: FJ40116472On Aug-11-12 at 20:29:12 PDT, seller added the following information: PLEASE EMAIL IF YOU WANT MORE PICTURES. I HAVE ABOUT 50 MORE THAT I CAN SEND ALONG FOR REVIEW. On Aug-17-12 at 22:04:52 PDT, seller added the following information: HELLO BIDDERS. I mentioned in the ad that I would send along a new ''Specter Off Road'' HEADLINER to the winning bidder since the current one did not need to be replaced yet but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I decided to replace it today anyway. It is installed, brand new, looks fantastic and receipts will be sent along to the winning bidder. Thanks. I see that the reserve is extremely close to being met. Thanks for the interest in this unique FJ40 cruiser.
