Up for sale is my 1978 Mercury Marquis Brougham. There is no option on Ebay to list a Marquis Brougham which is why the title says Grand Marquis. This car is sweet! It has the 6.6 engine with automatic transmission and runs, shifts, and drives really smooth. No engine knocks, ticks, leaks or anything like that. I have only had the car for a few months but I need the money now. It is really clean in and out and gets looks everywhere I go. The only thing I did to it was put in a brand new radiator and I installed a temperature gauge. I also put on a nice brand new dash mat which looks great! The Marti Reports shows this car is very rare and unique. It is only 1 of 18 built with these color / trim codes!!! No rust as far as I can see except the left bracket that holds the rear bumper on is rusted through. The bumper is on good but just wanted to disclose everything. The frame, body and everything else appear to be rust free. The inside is really nice as well. I love this car! I literally can't go anywhere without people asking me questions about it and complimenting its looks. It has power windows which work great, cruise control which also works perfect. The intermittent wipers work and it even still has the factory 8-Track radio!! The car has factory AC but needs to be charged. Local inspection is welcomed. Feel free to make an offer because all reasonable offers will be considered. All Deposits are non refundable. Please do not bid unless you intend to buy the item. A lot of people asking a lot of questions so here is a list of what the car needs: The hide-away headlights work great when the car is running. They stay closed when the lights are off and open when the lights are on. However, their must be a small vacuum leak because they do not stay closed when the car is off. The armrests on the passenger & driver's side are cracked. Easy to fix or easy to replace. The paint shines up nice but is not perfect. The car never been in an accident but the paint is not original in some spots. That's really it as far as I know. It's an awesome car. Even the tires are in terrific condition. I'm getting a LOT OF interest in this car from people asking A LOT of questions so I will try to answer some here for everyone to see: Can you send me pictures of any imperfections? The car is in nice shape! There are some imperfections in the paint naturally but they are hard to photograph. There are no door dings on the car! How is the interior? The interior is in beautiful condition. The passenger side armrest is cracked as well as the driver’s side. I think that's it! The seats are in beautiful shape with no rips, tears or even stains! The carpet is nice. The headliner is nice. The dash is nice. The top of the dash is faded to black which is why there is a dash mat on it but the dash mat fits and looks great! What condition are the tires in? The tires are in excellent condition! You will not need new tires for a long time!
