For sale a completely original 1981 BMW 323i Euro-spec 2 door coupe. These cars are extremely rare and very few were ever imported to the us. To those unfamiliar, it is basically a "sport" model of the base 320i which had a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder engine, this has a 2.3 litre six and a sports interior as well as upgraded suspension and brakes. This car was originally imported to the US in the early 90's by a good friend of mine. He restored it then and drove it for many year. I purchased from him 5 years ago and have enjoyed driving it on a regular basis. It always starts and has a strong battery, runs extremely well,the 5 speed transmission shifts smoothly, the limited slip differential is in perfect condition and everything works in the interior with the exception of the right turn signal and the cigarette lighter. I replaced the center resonator with an original Euro spec BMW part and designed the custom dual tip mufflers using some race components. It sounds AWESOME and is very fast and fun to drive. The tire have less than 2,000 mile on them and are mounted on BBS wheels. I have an extra set of black center caps for the wheels as well. The bad parts: Exterior: There is some rust in the trunk pan and right rear fender as well as the hood has a few dents, all pictured. The front bumper has some surface rust and the rear as well with a small dent. Interior: I replaced the carpet with a set that was given to me by the previous owner and although it was a huge improvement, it did not fit great. The headliner is sagging in the back a bit but is NOT ripped and can be easily fixed. The front left seat has a rip on the very great fitting Recaro seats (stock on 323is) and the dash has a few small cracks. Mechanicals: She runs a tad hot when in prolonged stop and go traffic, but does not overheat, and runs at the normal temperature most of the time. The springs are a bit soft but it comes with 4 brand new Eibach Sports Springs! This car could be driven as is for an extended period of time or restored. The car has Bilsteins all the way around and the suspension will be amazing with the addition of these springs. I never got around to installing them.
