This is a 1974 MGB in good overall condition with 87K original miles. I bought this from an estate. The previous owner passed away in 2003. The car had been sitting since that time. His widow told me her husband spent quite a bit of money restoring the car in the late nineties, include new paint, carbs rebulit, front end work, interior, tires and exhaust system an much more. I had the top surfaces repainted due to fading. The carbs were also removed, cleaned and reinstalled. The 6 volt battery has been converted to 12v with a new battery. I had the oil and gear box fluids changed and added three new wiper blades. The car always starts right up and runs, handles and shifts nicely. The overdrive works flawlessly. The lights, blinkers, horn and all electrical works properly. This has always been a southern car and it had very little rust prior to the repaint. This is a fun car to drive, but I know very little about them and don't know how to work on them. Things it needs... CARPET HEATER DOES NOT WORK CARB ADJUSTMENT ( CAR SMOKES A LITTLE AND AND IDLES HIGH AND APPEARS THE FUEL MIXTURE MAY BE TOO RICH) Convertible Top Minor chips and dings on body and chrome, but overall, very presentable. The sale includes the MGB hardtop. I was offered $300 for the top alone, but prefer to sell it with the car. I have approximately $4000.00 invested in this MGB, but I'm starting the auction at half that amount , or $2000.00. I can take pictures of any area of the car you need. The two MGB repair manuals and Moss catalog are incuded in the sale. The car also had the fan belt, radiator hose and dash cover replaced. Tires have plenty of tread. All components for the heating system appear to be there, but the switch does not activate the fan.
