ALL 64 CARS FINAL BUILD DATE IN BOTH PLANTS WERE JULY 31, 1964 In 1965, Metuchen NJ began to build the Mustang. 121,538 64’s were built 92,705 Coupes and 28,833 Convertibles. History of this car The car was built on July 31, 1964 in Dearborn Michigan. Its, original owner was Pauline Kendrick McDowell (Walters). She purchased it from Poole-Saunder Ford Sales Inc in Brookneal, VA on August 25, 1964 for #3,400.56. Larry and Michelle Cinciripino were the second owners and purchased it in June of 2002 for $10,000. At the time of purchase a conversation with Pauline revealed that a new top was put on about 10 years prior, new floor boards were done in the 80’s and the left rear fender was damaged and repaired. True 1964 and Specs Engine (Pictures pre and post are provided. Documentation of all bills of the complete engine are present. Rebuild was- Dec 06- May 07. Mileage was 75,013 when completed) The engine is a 170 ci - 6 cylinder, bore and stroke 3.50X 2.94 with compression ratio 8.7:1. Horsepower is 101 @4400 rpm. Valve lifters are hydraulic with an Autolite 1100 1V carburetor and weight of the engine is 345 lbs. Car weight 2770 lbs., Length -181.6”, Width- 68.2”, Height- 51”, Wheelbase is 108”. Tag is present on engine and number correct. Generator is present but was replaced when the engine was rebuilt. Radiator is original and was rebuilt in 2007. Has the 4 fan blade, hood stops attached by screws, hood hinges painted black and steering column shaft is white (same as interior). Master cylinder switch is correct. The 64 horns are period correct but were not on the car when purchased. Found online and put into the car in 2007. Everything was rebuilt and put back into the car by Glazior/Nolan Mustang Barn. Exterior- Mustang lettering is 4 1/8 long, under hood is a different shape with lip molding having holes. Grill is honeycomb style, edge inside is not squared off and is gunmetal. Wipers are mounted to hood and are chrome. Gas is tethered but can reflect the build date of July 31 where some parts were being transitioned by the end of the month. Head lamps are 7 inches, 52 ½ degree raked windshield and color is Cascade Green. Interior (all re-done, is correct and documented with pre and post pictures)- Seatbelts are Spartan chrome latches secured with clasp-type latch that was eye-bolted redone- see work list below. The carpet is correct with heel pad only-replaced see work list below (65 went to toe pad). Radio is correct with the lowest band being 600-rebuilt see work list below (65 went to 500). Door Handle is circular and fastened with spring type clip and lock knobs should be plastic to match the interior but they are not-could not find plastic knobs. The armrests are square (beveled in 1965). The dash is correct with Generator Light (1965 went to Alternator). Break is written on the emergency break and A is located on the Air knob. The trunk has a fabric backed rubber matt with a speckled texture and was replaced see work list below-( cross hatched design came out in 1965). Exhaust – single muffler mounted parallel to and behind the rear axle 25 inch long muffler replaced in summer of 2010.
