Vehicle Detail

1967 Ford Mustang Coupe with California classic black plates. Clear title in hand. Registration current through 11/12. Strong V-8 289 recently rebuilt with Edelbrock 4 barrel carb, Edelbrock intake, C4 auto transmission, MSD distributor, power steering, and power brakes. Dual FlowMaster exhaust sounds awesome! Approximately 9K miles (by previous owner) since rebuild. Receipts in hand for all work. Interior in good condition - recently redone with two-tone dark blue and white. Rear windows are unreliable - meaning sometimes they decide to go down on their own - but other then that the interior is solid. Headliner is in great shape including interior dome light, but bulb currently out. Front seats have been moved back from stock position (by previous owner) and no seat belts are currently installed. Brand new dark navy front lap belts included with car but not installed. Gauges are all clean and clear. Speedometer and alternator work well. Temp/pressure & fuel are unreliable. Exterior has a solid 25' paint job. Some light scratches here and there but from 25' she's beautiful. Body is super straight. A few minor rust spots above the door in the rain gutters etc. One chip on passenger side at rain gutter. See pics in link below. All surface - nothing is rusted thru. Deluxe hood is missing turn signal inserts. Turn signals work on rear of car, but signal stick doesn't hold position when turning left. Right works fine. Front fog lights don't work - not original - as best I can tell - and no wiring there for them Front parking lights are missing. Brand new in box complete assemblies with lamp come with car. AM/FM/XM/CD player in dash. 6x9 in rear. Sub and 2 amps in trunk. Amps are not currently connected to battery. All wiring is in place. Tires have 3/4 tread on them. Rear drivers side wheel missing one lug. ***PLEASE READ*** Driver's side has a cracked shock tower. Very common problem for 67/68 Mustangs. Easy but time consuming repair for someone with time and minor welding skills. I have the skills, but not the time, and I have another project on jack stands already. Car is drivable as is but not truly roadworthy until you repair or replace the shock tower. Not an expensive repair to do on your own, but it will take some time and basic welding skills. Car cannot be correctly aligned as it currently sits. Easy minor projects to make it perfect but in general, it's all there. YouTube video shot 7/22/12 - you can hear it run and see it drive: YouTube Video Photobucket - 30 pics shot 7/22 - you can see how nice it is. Detailed pics of cracked shock tower and the one in good shape for comparison: PhotoBucket True story on how I came to own this car. I have project that I'm nearly a year into (1942 Dodge WC 1/2 ton in case you care) and like all projects it has taken on a life of its own. What was planned for one year of restoration work is more realistically two years of work, maybe more, who knows. I missed being able to drive a classic, so I searched my local CL and found a car I have always liked but never owned. I've generally been a mopar guy and not knowing the history of Mustangs and shock tower problems, this car just felt out of alignment to me. So I took a risk, and bought it. The risk wasn't the car - the risk was that I didn't consult with the wife first. My logic was the motor ran well, it moved through gears with ease, sounded awesome and all the little stuff I could fix over time, but not getting the wife approval was a bad move and I should have stopped right there. But I bought it anyway. Then I spent the time and money at the DMV to get the title transferred and keep the black plates alive. Next day off to the alignment shop for what I hoped was a quick trip and then off to driving. Instead I got schooled on shock towers. Great knowledge, but no alignment. Still drivable, so I drove it back home. But not really road worthy and I'm unable to put my wife in the car to take her for a ride and win her over. So here I am with another project that wants to be on jack stands for repair. In a perfect world I'd take 4 or 5 days pull the motor, change out the tower and have her back on the road. In reality with a job, wife, toddler and another project on stands, 4 or 5 days would be 2 months easy. It just isn't going to fly at my house.
