Vehicle Detail

This is my 5th E28 and certainly the best of any I've owned. I buy them, repair them as close to factory specs, drive them a while and sell them. It's a hobby of mine since I'm so impressed with their reliable engineering. This one has been my daily driver for over 2 years, thought I'd never part with it, but a recent surgery forces me to sell. The car was in great shape when I bought it, other than the fading paint (no rust). I striped all trim, bumpers, grills, windshield, rear window, tail and clearance lights before having it professorially painted the original color and garage kept it every since. I refit with new seals in trunk, windshield, rear window and tail light housing. The engine runs perfect and the transmission was rebuilt just before I purchased it....around 25,000 miles ago.I replaced control arm bushings and had the front end aligned. I replaced all rear-end seals since it had a minor leak when I bought it. I preformed a complete brake job including pads, rotors, (all 4 wheels) and emergency brake shoes. I replaced the factory tape deck with a new CD player and alpine speakers. The power seats and windows work as they should and the interior is free of any tears or rips. The cracked dash has a cover-lay that fits well. All gauges and indicator lights work correctly other than the tachometer. I replaced the instrument cluster with a used one trying to get the tachometer working with no luck, but did replace odometer gears before fitting new cluster. These engines are known for running a half a million miles when performing general preventive maintenance, are very economical and very reliable. The timing belt was replaced when the transmission was rebuilt and I adjusted the valves last oil change including a new fuel filter. I average 30 MPG back and forth to work ..20 miles away. These cars were only sent to the U.S. in 1985 and 1986 and a total of around 2,000 made it here. It is truly a classic example of German engineering, a good looker with the turbo performance and handling that only comes from European rear independent suspension cars. Feel free to ask any questions.....happy bidding.
