If you’re looking for a reasonably priced and low mileage TDI, then you may have just found it. It’s my local 1-owner 2000 Beetle GLS Turbo Diesel 5-Speed. This car was just traded at the local new car dealer and we have cleaned it up and now ready to sell. Read on for a full description. Mechanically this 1.9L TDI starts up smooth and quiet with no smoke or blow by and the 5-speed manual transmission and clutch shift smooth and it pulls good through all the gears. Tires are Michelin with 70% tread, brakes are thick, shocks and front end are tight and has a current PA State inspection until Feb/2013 and current oil change reminder for another 3,000 miles done at Autohaus Volkswagen. All glass is clean and lights are working correctly. A/c, heat, cruise, all power options are working great as well. I do not have any service history but the car was owned right here in Lancaster, PA and it was serviced at Autohaus so it may be able to be tracked down. I did look at the timing belt and it appears to be original and should be replaced at 60,000. I want everyone to be aware of that fact, I can have the timing belt/water pump replacement done before you come to pick up the car for an extra $700. Cosmetically it is in good condition. Straight body and clean paint. Has normal stone chips and a few light scratches. It does have one scrape/dent on the left rear fender. Also the right side front fender and door have been repainted and it does not match perfectly. It doesn’t appear to have been repainted for a collision as the panels are original and the autocheck does not show a prior accident. No other door dings or dents to mention. The car was just professionally detailed and waxed and it looks great. As far as the interior; seats, carpets, dash and door panels are clean without major stains. The drivers seat has small incision in the lumbar, the headliner is coming down in spots and the door panel material is loose in spots. All options are working correctly including ice cold Air Conditioning. Never smoked in, no burns still smells good inside. I have two key fobs and one valet key and original owners manuals to go with. I think anyone looking for a 12 year old TDI to bop around in will be thoroughly impressed with the way this car performs and looks especially for the price. I’m asking $5,999 for this car and I’m not looking for any low ball offers, it’s a great car and you don’t find many in this model year with low mileage. I priced it accordingly considering the timing belt need and the condition. If it were perfect with 60k miles with new timing belt the car would be priced at the KBB.com retail value of $9,200.
