Vehicle Detail

This matching numbers 1962 MGA MkII was just pulled out of a local barn this week, and is a very solid car for a restoration. The car has 4 60 spoke wire wheels with it (one 48 spoke spare is on the car currently). It also has its original jack in the original jack bag which you do not see often. This MGA is exceptionally well preserved for its age. The original side curtain bag still has two side curtains in it (as photographed). The red leather interior appears to be original and is in remarkably nice shape for its age. The interior would not need to be replaced. The car also comes with a new carpet kit that is still in its plastic wrapping, although I don't think the carpets even need to be replaced. There is no structural rust or rot on the frame (besides the right side battery box which is photographed). The inner rockers need to be replaced, but the outer rockers are very solid and do not need to be replaced. The 1622cc engine with the correct "16" head on it turns freely. It comes with a rebuilt master cylinder, still in its plastic wrapping. The body appears to be bondo and rust free with the exception of the dogleg on the drivers side rear fender which may have been patched. The frame, underneath, is clean and very solid. The body lines up and gaps up very nicely. All in all, this is a straightforward restoration project. Alternatively, it would take just a weekends work to get the car up and running and driving. The car rolls freely and the engine turns over by hand. The most expensive part (master cylinder) is ready to be bolted on. MGA's are going through the roof in value, and wire wheel Mark II's are right at the head of the pack. This is a rare opportunity to get into a project that will pay for itself in appreciation. International bidders are welcome, although we ask that bidders from overseas and bidders with less than 5 feedback please contact us before bidding. We have quite a bit of experience arranging for cars to leave the country, and are happy to help make arrangements to get your newly purchased MGA to the nearest port.
