Vehicle Detail

**RELISTED DUE TO BUYER NOT BEING ABLE TO COMPLETE TRANSACTION IN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME.** Up for sale is a really nice 1983 Volvo 245 (240) DL station wagon. This car has ONLY 97K original miles! This car has theB23F inline 4 cylinder engine. It has a smooth shifting AW70 3 speed automatic transmission with overdrive, making it a 4 speed transmission. This car was purchased by us as a non running vehicle, and was going to be parted out, however, upon inspection we decided to repair it and sell as a running car. The previous owner said that the timing belt was put on improperly, and timing was off as a result (these are NON interference engines, meaning that if the belt breaks or the timing is off, the engine is NOT damaged). This was not the case. The problem was that the distributor cap, an aftermarket part, was defective, resulting in a no run condition. The cap was replaced with an OE Bosch part, and it runs like a top. I would re-time the distributor to be sure that is alright. My timing light broke, therefore I cannot time it or check the ignition timing. It has a new timing belt, and was tuned up in the past 50 miles or so. The car drives excellent, and has plenty of power, and oh yeah... it has 97K miles! There are some issues. One being that there is rust, as you can see in the picture. This is why we were going to part it out, but given the low mileage and the overall condition, we think it would be better for someone to fix up and drive. The floor is not as bad as it looks in the pictures. The piece hanging down was actually a fiberglass patch that was way to big to cover a smaller hole. It has since fallen off. There are no gigantic holes in the floor, just minor issues there. The pictures are deceiving. The contours of the floor makes it look like there is a big hole, there is in fact not a big hole there. The AC works, but needs a charge (about a pound and a half or so low). I have no intention to charge it. The brake rotors are rusty from sitting, however, it does stop. I think the front right (passenger side) caliper is sticky. Could be as simple as the sliders. Front door speakers are missing. Lastly, the rear hatch has to be opened from the inside. That is a simple fix, but we have not addressed it.. It was originally an Arizona car, and has 20% tinted glass in the rear of the car. It was repainted at some point in it's life, and the paint still shines. Whom ever painted it did a very nice job, and it is the original factory color. Well worth fixing in my opinion. Save this rare low mileage gem! The history report shows 53K in 2000, then in 2001 it shows 154K, this is obviously an error. I have seen this from time to time where the reporting folks make this error and assume the odometer rolled over. Kind of hard to make that assumption when there are 6 digits on a 240's odometer. Anyhow, I just wanted to clarify this. The mileage is original. We are selling the car AS IS, WHERE IS. No returns or refunds. We have it for sale locally, as well as some other places, and have it priced cheap to sell it fast. Someone will get a heck of a deal on this car. The pictures don't do it justice. It is a really nice car. Very clean inside and out. Located in Westport, PA 17778. The car is along PA-120 approximately one mile West of Kettle Creek. It is by the road with "For Sale" signs. We'll will be glad to sell this worldwide. International bidders must handle the shipping, etc. at your own expense. Same goes for US bidders. I will help in any way that I can. Although I see no reason why the car could not be driven, trailering it is recommended. Drive at your own risk. The car has been off the road for roughly a year, maybe a year and a half. Payment: Cash is KING. However, we will accept paypal as a payment, but the buyer will be responsible for the paypal fees, i.e. purchase price plus paypal fees.
