1981 Mercedes Benz 300sd turbo Diesel. 181220 mile on the odo. 5cyl/AT. I am selling it as a parts car or project. Not driveable right now. Motor runs great, trans shifts crisp. Car was driven into a ditch and the front end was knocked out of alignment. Passenger side tire plows. It can be driven up the street to verify that the trans shifts but it pulls hard right and the tire squeals from being out of alignment. The motor does need glow plugs so you have to give it a shot of starting fluid when the engines cold to get it going. Purrs like kitten and runs great with good power for a diesel after that. The body is not rusty but the only panels that dont have at least a little damage are the hood, trunk, pass side rear door and the quarter panels. The rest is roughed up some. The windshield is cracked, all the rest of the glass is fine. None of the windows will go up or down rt now. Al the switches are there, I have not investigated why they do not function. I do know the pass rear window is not attached to the regulator anymore and can be move freely in the tracks. The door panel is gone off that door as well. Drivers front window is up and the other 2 are down. The interior is descent considering. None of the seats are torn up and the other 3 door panels are in good shape. The console is rough . Dash is pretty straight, only a couple small cracks about an inch long. Headliner is good. Has 5 original MB wheels. All in all it is a pretty solid piece and would be an excellent choice for a donor car. You could do the glow plugs n battery then get the front end work done and drive this thing.
