$0.99 No Reserve Auction!!! 1980 MERCEDES BENZ 300 SD TURBO DIESEL Nice Shape! Great Candidate for Veggie Oil Conversion! (Please wait for all 33 pictures to load at the bottom of the description) I am selling my 1980 Mercedes Benz 300 SD Turbo Diesel. This car is in great shape especially considering its age. I originally bought it to do a veggie oil conversion car but I’m buying a motorcycle so the car has to go. The “Good” The car starts, runs, drives and stops well. It starts up right away and idles smooth! The car cruises great on the highway at 75 mph+. The car has a good set of matching Michelin Tires with lots of tread left along with 2 full size spares with good tires on them as well. All the lights and blinkers work except one fog light which has a broken lens and broken bulb. Wipers work. Electric windows all work and operate strong. Heat works with upgraded climate control servo. Front Seats are in great shape with no rips or tears! Car has a new battery only about 3 weeks old and it also has a newer exhaust system from the turbo back! Headliner is in great shape. Has a very respectable working Alpine cd/radio with upgraded speakers and tweeters on the dash (I don’t know the brand speakers but the previous owner told me they weren't cheap many years ago) The body is in decent shape with very few dents and the car has solid floors. I bought this car a little over a month ago from I believe the second owner who’s been driving it daily for about 6 years. Great gas mileage! I’ve taken it on a few 1.5 hr cruises and the car has not given me any issues or left me anywhere. The previous owner was an older gentleman and he has taken great care of the car. The “Not so Bad” 1. I was in the middle of having the back seat reupholstered but never got around to finishing it, the seat frame/springs are all there. (See Picture) 2. One of the fog lights lens and bulb is broken. 3. The paint has seen better days probably would benefit from a good buff job. 4. There is some minor surface rust starting on the roof in 2 small spots a quarter size or less and some other minor spots as shown in the pictures. 5. The windshield has a crack along the top of it. 6. The odometer has stopped running at about 144,XXX miles. 7. And lastly the car needs a new ignition switch, it starts and works fine except when you try to turn the car off it doesn’t shut the engine off, this just started to happen about a week ago. You can turn the car off under the hood by pushing the lever that says “STOP” in red. (There’s a picture of me pointing to it) All in all this is a great car to tag Historic & drive As-Is or a great project for someone to Restore, Do a Veggie Oil Conversion, slap Air Ride suspension on it, Use as a commuter or second car, great first car, who knows the possibilities are endless. The car is being sold as is and without any warranty. It is 32 years old please don’t expect it to be a new car. The car must be picked up and paid for in full within 7 days of the end of the auction. Buyer must arrange pickup or shipping, I will assist in any way I can. $500 PayPal deposit due at the end of the auction. This car is being offered for sale locally and I may end the auction at any time. Please feel free to call with any questions or to come see the car Please call 44 Three-690-67 Seven Two Thanks!
